Not sure what secondary fuel mod you are posting about, can you explain what this is ?
Have you checked the fuel inertia switch in the passenger side kick panel ?
Is this a 2004 New Body style or 2004 Heritage / Lightning ?
If it is a New body style, have you checked / replaced the fuel pump driver module ? This is on the cross member by the spare tire, and some times they get corroded and crack.

The fuel pump is powered from the Fuel pump relay ( non serviceable in the Cab fuse panel ) to the fuel inertia switch to the fuel pump driver module. The PCM is also connected to the fuel pump driver module
The fuel pump relay normally open contact is powered by Fuse #34 ( this fuse also feeds the PCM ). The fuel pump relay coil is powered by the PCM power relay.
If you are testing and the truck has not started, the PCM will shut off the Fuel pump after 5 seconds ( 8 ? ) of not having started. The only way to clear this is to have the truck start, or disconnect the battery.
Have you tested the fuel pressure on the fuel rail ?

New fuel pump

Hi there.
This dependens on the year and model
Early mod have fuel pump on engine .
Later have pumps in fuel tanks and are elect so if tank mod then get under the car and check to where the fuel pipe goes to,if it goes through the line filter to the back of fuel tank then it has to be drained of fuel before removing the sender unit assy and when its out the pump is on the end of pick up pipe in tank.
Replace the complete assy and refit and replace all in reverse of removal and replace with new rubber seal.

Tracey feul pump dosn, twork turned off won,t start

The electric fuel pump is controlled by a relay in the fusebox.
It normally only goes on for a few seconds, and then if the alternator does not signal the engine is running, the relay is supposed to shut the pump off. But you can shunt the secondary wires of the relay to keep it on if you want to check fuel pressure.

Try some starting fluid spray to make sure the ignition is good.
It will at least sputter on the spray, if there is spark.

HOW I CAN KNOW WHICH PUMP GOES ON MY SATURN VUE PRIMARY OR SECONDARY IS 3.0 ENGINE

The primary fuel pump is located in the left side of the tank. If you fill the tank up and it still does not start then it is the primary tank. Problem is that now you will have to drop the tank with a full tank of gas. The primary pump is used to pump the fuel to the fuel rail, while the secondary pump is used to pump fuel from the right side of the tank to the left side. I usually replace both primary and secondary so I don't have to pull the tank again if the secondary is also bad.

Are you sure you have a fuel pump problem? What are your symptoms?
