There must've been some prob with the mousepad/ external mouse driver.go to control menu->double click mouse->choose hardware tab->properties->driver->update driver... do this with ya motherboard/laptop cd/dvd in the cd/dvd rom. choose search software driver automatically. once ya done. restart and start using mouse as before.

Unlock toshiba laptop

Some toshiba laptops have trouble with the touchpad locking up. I have tried using a wireless mouse and it has helped whenever the touchpad locks up. to unlock (I'm assuming you mean log in) you can click space instead of using the mouse.

Cursor not showing up

Well the touchpad driver could be erased or a virus may have damaged it.
You should go to Acers website and then support and download drivers and get the right touchpad driver.

Install it and see if it works.
Use TAB to navigate for now. or use mouse keys.
This means keep pressing shift really fast and accessibility option will show up.
Use tab and space bar to navigate to MOUSE TAB and select Mouse Keys and hit enter.
Done for now you can use the numpad to operate the cursor.
Second option is to go out and buy a USB mouse.

Worst case scenario: Touchpad is damaged and needs replacing.
Or simply a cable got disconnected and needs reconnecting by taking the laptop apart
Get Your Laptop Mouse to Show Up if It Disappears
Using a laptop is as efficient as a desktop computer to complete tasks, use the Internet and talk with friends on a daily basis.
If your laptop's mouse cursor disappears, there are various tricks and solutions available to help get your mouse pointer back to resume your work and current computer tasks within minutes.
And this can be accomplished without the use of software applications or advanced computer skills.
Press "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "Delete" and choose "Task Manager" if your mouse pointer becomes available, pressing the keys simultaneously.
This will allow you to close any open programs that may be causing issues with your mouse pointer.
Plug in an external mouse to allow the computer to attempt to find the device, prompting the mouse pointer to appear which may solve the problem or allow you to temporarily work with a mouse pointer.

Reboot your computer by pressing and holding the laptop's power button for a few seconds.
This will reset your laptop's current open settings and most often allow your computer's mouse pointer to reappear.

Upgrade your laptop's video and graphic card drivers (if available) to ensure the mouse pointer disappearing or flickering is not a hardware issue.
Select "Start" > "Control Panel" > "Hardware and Sound" > "Device Manager" to view your current graphic and video settings.
Visit your device manufacturer's official website to download the most current version of your drivers.

Acer Aspire M/ The cursor disappeared and I cant get it back

first confirm that your touch pad is working or not. yor touch pad may be disabled or it may be dead. you can enable your touch pad in it's setting. you can connect an external mouse to your laptop to check that. or you can enable mouse keys in control panel.

My cursor darts to a corner without moving mouse

do you have Word with that weird little paperclip helper? some computers have presets that make it (or your cursor) move out of the way so you can see what you're typing as that many people (not including me!) touch type while looking at the screen and the cursor being in the way is VERY distracting to them.
