To whom it may concern

Thank you for the offer. I will bear it in mind should I need further assistance.
I solved the problem by removing the cover and loosen the clips where the disc tray is and slid the release tray and by pressing the eject button, the tray ejected the disc.
I have tried other discs by recording, deleting and ejecting and so far the problem has not been experienced again.
Kind regards.

Hi,

Try pressing repeatedly the eject button while you turn on the unit. If this doesn't work then it is a mechanically problem in your player. You need to be manually open to take out the dvd.The rubber thread which should be connected to the motor inside the DVD player might have moved from its place.
You need to place the rubber thread to proper place.

Furthermore, if the belt is slipping, the mechanism never gets the "drawer closed" signal, and the disk will not spin.

After a DVD player has been used for awhile, another common problem is that the laser in the DVD player becomes misaligned, inhibiting its ability to read DVDs. So it indicates the defective laser motor. The only way to fix this problem is to bring the unit to a service center for repair.

Hope this helps.

Insert DVD...nothing happens...

You might have to open it up (assuming it's a desktop, not laptop) and make sure the cable is connected inside. The power might be connected, which lets you insert and eject discs, but the IDE (assuming it's IDE) cable also needs to be connected.

CAnt eject DVD disc. Get message ''blocked'' Machine will play the DVD but when I try to eject nothing happens other than the message. What size lump hammer should I use?

if you want to just get the disc out there should be a tiny hole on the front of the drive where you can insert a paper clip firmly to eject the drive.

I would also check the rubber band / cogs by taking a look inside and see if there are any issues.

Also if you reboot do you get the same problem ?

Repairing disc message won't go & DVD disc won't eject

By pressing the Power button for >10 seconds you can force the unit to turn off. Immediately as the unit does, press the disk eject button and the defective DVD can be removed. Don't put it back in, or the problem may repeat!
