"WRITE PROJECT!" ???

HI!
I'm unsure whether my problem is due to my olympus memory card, maybe its been damaged or faulty, or if its the camera. What happens is that when i turn it on with the mc inserted, it lets me take one picture, then doesnt display it when i pressed the play button, instead the screen goes blue and says "write project!" in red. also a green icon of a key with a border around it shows over each photo when trying to view the one i've taken. now they are green-multi coloured screens, no images of my real subjects.
HELP! POR FAVOR!

Not a worry thanks for the comment but all i ended up doing was downloading a software recovery program from the internet and that managed to recover all the files, about 10 or so were cut in half and it didnt recover any movie files (there was only about 4 or 5) so at least i didnt lose 100-200 photos!
all thats happening now is that the camera wont even turn on now! (go olympus- NOT!)

Likely all you can do is to re-format the card.
if you have a usb memory card reader if may give you a difference than the camera files are presented but not likely.
right click on the drive and format.
it became corrupt when writing or when it was connected to system.

When i switch my olympus F48-X44 camera on it say write project what is the solution?

I assume it actually says "write protect" and not "write project".

Look at the memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Hindi po kc binabasa ng camera ung memory card.... bk8 po ganun...?

Hi martin oclar,

Maybe your memory card is damage, try to use other memory card and check if it works. when it works maybe your memory card got a problem or maybe its not compatible, to verify it try to put that memory card that you think is damage to other camera device.

Hope This Helps ^ ^,

I have a fe-200 olympus camera, after i transferred the images, the memory card say write protect, the memory card has no switch on the side, and now i cant take any pictures happened to both of my memory...

Your camera uses xD memory cards, and they never have a physical locking switch.

Your problem is most likely due to having used the xD card in an external card reader. The host pc sometimes sets the xD card as a "read only" drive. If so you must go back to the host pc and connect the xD card again. If using Windows then click on My Computer and highlight the xD card. Right click and select Properties from the device menu. Uncheck the box marked Read Only.

If that's not the cause of your problem then try re-formatting the card in your camera. NEVER re-format it using a computer.

If those options both fail, try another xD card which is known to be fully functional in your camera. This will determine whether the camera or the card is at fault. The camera is too old to merit the cost of a professional repair, and there's nothing more to be done with a faulty xD card, so replace whichever item is faulty.

You may also wish to consult the user manual for your model which you can download for free from Olympus in .pdf format.

I hope that I've been of assistance, please take a moment to rate my speedy and free answer.

What does it mean when it says write project

Hi,

Almost always, the card write protect is on the SD / SDHC memory card itself. There would be a sliding switch/tab on the side of the memory card. Please reference below image.

Flashing Lights!!

The problem may be from the memory card, the memory card of the camera may have been damage, try to get a new memory card then see whether the problem will still occur. Since the memory card is damage, you won't be able to take any picture.

Olympus camera memory card not working

A thorough dusting of the pins/ holes might solve the problem.

Also check whether any pin has got bent.

Upgrade olympus d-560 256 mb memory to 2 gb memory

The problem is that the largest xD card that your camera can support is an M or H 512mb card. The 1gb or 2gb cards are not compatible. Due to the age of the camera Olympus has no plans to provide any upgrade for allowing a larger memory card.

Write Project?!?!?

If you camera has some internal memory remove your memory card and see if the camera works. If so, check the memory card and see if the little switch is in the "lock" position.
