TV Won't Power on Green Flashing Timer Light.

I've reset, I've unplugged, I've unplugged and held the reset while plugging in. No luck. I'm going to start with the easy suggestions like blowing the dust off. Then I'll kick it. If that doesn't work, I guess it's time to shell out some coin for someone to come replace the DM. Let me know if someone figures something out other then the expensive DM replacement.

I also won a WS-55859 that is having the same problem. Power went off today while at work and when we returned the famous blinking green lamp on the front panel. I have unpluged and pushed reset as manual states but nothing seems to work. Would really appreciate some cheap Help. Thanks

99% of the time the dm is the problem. if your lucky its the power supply capacitors located on the power board. this board is contained within the digital module.the capacitors are
1000mf/16v. mitsu has changed these to 680mf/16volt. theses caps will not necessarily look bad and should be checked with a capacitor meter

Someone left a WS-55859 TV in front of the dumpster at work. Plugged it in and timer light was flashing green. Removed the capacitors on the DM board and tested all 7, four failed. Bought 4 new ones, same as original for $1.90 each. Installed them and tv is working great. Remember, after unplugging this tv & back in, when you power on, the timer light will flash green for up to 2 minutes then stop. This is the normal bootup process after unplugged from a wall outlet.

Here's a guy who fixed it himself, with no prior soldering experience, and completely documented the process.
check it out here:

The only thing I would add, based on all the online Q&A sites, which all agree that replacing the seven (7) Capacitors on the DM board is the recomended fix, is to upgrade the Capacitors to:

1000 micro Farads @ 25Volt 105 deg.Celcius

Mitsubishi WS73713 - Now working - Timer light flashing.

My Mitsubishi WS-73713 had the same blinking green timer light problem and would not turn on. I tried the reset button and unplugging power to no avail. I found that by simultaneously holding down the remote control "power" button and "volume" button for about 30 seconds the blinking light would go out and a solid green light would come on. Even though the solid green light came on the unit would still not power up. After doing this several times however the unit did finally power up in a normal mode and appears to be working again. It's worth trying before calling in for an expensive repair. PS - From here on out I'm sticking with SONY or Toshiba sets which have given be great service.
