Question about Magellan Roadmate 760 GPS Receiver
The rodamte 760, I purchased about 13 months a go. when I turn it on it just keep on serching for signal. I called technical support and they told me to go into configeration and then initialize it. I must say Magellan has the worst ever customer service and technical support team. It is very difficult to understand them. Half of the people I spoke with barely spoke any English. Talk about getting really cheap spport, call magellan. I must have called about four times and each time they tell me to do the same thing. Then one of the technical support rep told me that he can offer a trade in for similar magellen which would cost $579. that is rediculous I can get that exact same model locally for $371. Talk about riping people off. I would not recommednd this product to anyone. They are the biggest rip offs.
I do not know what to do with my unit.
YES.. do a search for Daniel.. wait.. that's ME!! and while your at it send me some money!! hah.. I'm j/k.. (unless you want to of course). It does appear that I am the last and only option for tech support on these products. It is much easier/quicker to look at my previous post's rather then waiting for me to respond individually as I have a full-time job like most of you as well.

Search for solutions from Daniel, one of the experts. He said you can do a hard reset by pressing the zoom out and repeat buttons simultaneously at the user screen which will invoke a hidden menu. Select "reset GPS user data". If this does not solve the problem, Carefully open the unit, maybe 1/2 inch at first because of the RF cable (grey or black wire going between PCB's). Check if one end is un-connected, either un-snapped or the solder broke.
Calling tech support as i did was a complete waste of time but i learned something about myself....I have an incredible amount of patience!!!
Even when the tech guy said he could not help me but he suggested that I spend an additional $200 for a new unit with the $1000 model 760 as a trade in.!!!!

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
Here's a link to this great service
