Question about SanDisk Sansa c240 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Voice Recorder I usually record all my class lectures. I copy them to my laptop, and recently to my flash. This time 3 recordings copied unsuccessfully. One won't come off the mp3 player, every time I click/double click/right click it does nothing, not even to ask me to copy; one only has 3 minutes of a 47 minute lecture (I have a backup on a flash and it's complete); the other did not transfer at all, the icon was created for all of them it and the "copying VOC0..." closed as usual. Could it be the mp3 player or could it be vista? I recently tried it today and it worked. Thank you.

Same person here haha. Finally, it gives me an error! I right clicked, hit copy then hit paste in the same window. It reads:

    Error Copying File

Cannot copy VORC024: The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected.

It only gives me this error when I try to copy and paste within the same window. If I hit paste on the desktop, it does nothing. Mp3 is plugged in, lit up, says 'reading' and my computer does see it.

    Now, I'm REALLY confused.

    Thank you!

It could very well be related to Vista - go ahead and upgrade the firmware on this player from the Sandisk website

I recorded meeting minutes to my digital OLYMPUS VN-480 PC voice recorder and want to transfer the recording on it to my Dell Inspirion/1100 laptop. Could I transfer the audio from the headphone jack to...

Hello,

yes, it is possible. You will connect the earphone jack from your voice recorder to Mic of your laptop. Then you will be needing a wave software on your laptop, download the wave software from the internet, open the wave file, then press play on your voice recorder and the minutes will be recorded into your laptop as a wave files.

But the easiest method of tranferring the minutes is by using the usb cable of your OLYMPUS VN-480 PC voice recorder. If you don't have it you can purchase it, then connect it from your OLYMPUS VN-480 PC voice recorder to the usb of your computer and it will be read like a flash drive.

After that, go to my computer and you will see a drive representing the OLYMPUS VN-480 PC voice recorder, open the drive and you will see your minutes, then simply create a folder on your computer, and copy, paste the minutes into the created folder. And the would be all.

God luck.

Problems in transferring voice (lecture) files to Mac

WMA is a windows standard. You can get the free components for Quicktime from Microsoft's web site. This should solve your problem.

Not playing full recording

Hi,
Maybe it's the preview play option of the player that you are using. It only plays a part of the recording for you to identify if it is the right recording that you are trying to find because the recorded allows you to record more than one file.

RCA's RP5120 Digital Recorder has VOC format, can't share or copy to CD

Version 4.04 of the software has a utility to convert to .VOC files to .WAV or even .EXE. (Are there really folks who would prefer to receive an .EXE file in email?)

I've read in several reviews that you can save .VOC files as .MP3 files using the provided software, but either this feature is no longer available, or the reviewers were mistaken.

You can convert .WAV files to .MP3 files simply. You may find one such converter for free on C|NET at:
http://www.download.com/WAV-to-MP3-Encoder/3000-2140_4-10060500.html

A 5 minute google search (wav to mp3 freeware) revealed 3 absolutely free utilities which will do this. I, too, wish mp3 support was native with this product, but I can live with using these utilities.

Sony IC Recorder ICD B600

To transfer recordings from the Sony ICD-B600 to Windows first buy a Radio Shack #42-2497 cable. Connect the cable from the recorder headphone jack to the computer microphone jack. In Windows XP follow the path: start, All Programs, Accessories, Entertainment, Sound Recorder. This small window will allow you to record 60 seconds of sound to a file. Get Article #82215 from the Microsoft web site. It will tell you how to make extended recordings. I was able to record 45 minutes continuously. The recorder is turned on by moving the 'HOLD' switch down. The recorder is turned off by moving the 'HOLD' switch up and waiting 2.5 seconds. Have fun.

None of the CD burning programs seem to work using the wav. files created by the recorder

maybe, you got those wav. files copy controlled. check out the relevant preferences from the voice recorder menus. if this solution doesn't work, simply convert the files into mp3, then convert them into wav. again. I hope this could help..
