My Go Gear now turns on for a short time but won't play music it just shows 0:00 when selecting a song. Furthermore, when I connect to the AC adaptor and USB cord it shuts off and then won't turn on. Anyone have any ideas?

It has been working for over a year and today I plugged in the power charger and the player came on and then turned off. It will not turn back on. My Go Gear now turns on for a short time but won't play music it just shows 0:00 when selecting a song. Furthermore, when I connect to the AC adaptor and USB cord it shuts off and then won't turn on. Anyone have any ideas?

I have now gotten a new battery for the player and now when I plug it into the power it stays off but when I just plug it into the USB it stays on so I did a repair and update and this cleared my music which I knew would happen then I added songs onto it and the songs will load up but won't play still shows 0:00. It also will turn on and show "PHILIPS" and then shuts off and then it comes back on it did this for 10 to 15 times and then it turned off. I again was able to connect it to the PC and did another repair. then when I plug it into the power charger it will briefly show it charging but turns off. I am able to turn it off by resetting it but rarely by the on and off button alone. Does anyone have any ideas or is this player beyond repair which I hope not. Please help it help is able to be applied!

Make sure you back up all songs on the GoGear before attempting this solution.

1) Back up all files on the GoGear
2) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips)
3) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button
4) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new

Now you can do the firmware upgrade that will prevent this problem from occuring in the future. Open up Philips Device Manager and click the Update tab. This problem was caused because most GoGear's were designed for Windows XP with Media Player 10 (which is no longer the latest standard).

You must do a firmware upgrade to resolve this issue.

Open Philips Device Manager (Go to Start--> all Programs--> Philips...), and click on Update tab

OR

You can get it from www.usasupport.philips.com
It will delete all songs off your player, so be forewarned
Enter your model number on the website, click the link on next page that says SA 5125/37 w/o a "b" on the end
Click on Software and drivers tab
Click on firmware upgrade software - instructions enclosed

Try connecting the player in service mode:

1) Connect the player to the mains adaptor only. Do not connect to PC yet.
2) On the player, press and hold "Power On" & "Vol +" for 3 seconds to reset the player.
3) Release "Power On" & "Vol +"
4) Press and hold "Vol -"
5) Connect device to PC and continue to hold "Vol -"
6) PC should show device as Removable Drive

If all of this works, the player is ok, but the firmware is probably corrupt. This can be rectified, but any content will probably be
lost.

    Correction to previous solution:

    1) Connect the player to the mains adaptor and PC

    2) On the player, press and hold "Power On" & "Vol +" until the unit resets.
    3) Quickly press and hold "Vol -" until PC shows unit as removable drive.

Install and run the Philips Device Manager from the product CD.

Select the Repair/Restore option and follow the on-screen prompts.

This will format the player and re-load the firmware.

The computer can not see the philips player philip moldel go gear aria 4 gb

Have the go gear plugged to another PC to check if the player is detected. If so the PC is having errors and must be scanned for virus or restored to an earlier date.
Also check to see if the go gear is infected or has faulty files in the memory. If so have the files delected off after scanning, format and reinstall files with the help of the philips media convertor.

30 gb zune problem

What you can do is change the date or time on your computer in which your Zune is plugged into, and it can fix it.
If that doesn't work, look up how to take it apart, then unplug the hard-drive chord and replug it in.
Then charge it and ureka it worked!
You may have to do this a few times for it to work.

Philips GoGear 30 GB HDD6330 Won't Turn on.

Try a soft reset by pressing and holding [VOL+] & [POWER]
whenever this happens, then try powering up again.

If this doesn't work, it could be corrupt firmware. Run the Philips Device Manager software (on the product CD). Select the Restore / Repair option and follow the on-screen prompts.

This will format the player and re-flash the firmware.

Note: ALL tracks will be deleted from the player.
