I just replaced my MP810 printer head. Procedure: open printer - remove ink cartridges - Pick up arm located on right side of cartridge holder- remove printer head by picking up by the cartridge slots. Place new printer head in holder - replace printer cartridges - press arm down and your done....However, the error message stays on and reset procedure doesn't remove it. Canon tech support said their solution (because of distance from canon support) is to replace MP810 with comparable printer, which came to $299 with 15% discount and free shipping. My solution, I’m checking out other printers.

I was able to get mine unclogged by wiping it down with some water... a replacement head is pretty expensive for what these printers originally cost - so I'll look to replace the printer if I can't fix this myself.

SOURCE: canon mp810 is not printing correctly

Brand new cartridge or refilled one? If refilled cartridge, just wait for 30 minutes after refilling and use good quality of ink. It's caused by bad ink flow. While ink spray (bubbling) form head, ink at ink tank not flow to head.

PRINTER SUDDENLY PRINTING VERY FAINT ALL INK FULL

It is most likely a blockage in the print-head. Run a nozzle check to see if all the jets are firing cleanly. If there are colours missing or "scratchy" run a deep cleaning cycle. If that doesn't improve the nozzle check, remove the cartridges and then the print-head. Run the underside of the print-head under hot water from the tap for a moment. dry it with a paper towel and re-install the print-head and cartridges. Give a standard clean and re-try. If it still doesn't work, the print-head is probably dying.

Only half of the page prints why (canon pixma mp810)

In most cases the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the ink levels.
Activate head cleaning before a test is taken .

Check all the leads and connections of the mother board , the tags to the ink cartridge. Also check the mechanical settings of the ink cartridge , if jammed or tight remove motor and manually free the drive before it is set back.

Thank you for using FIxya

My Canon MP810 is not feeding the paper properly and when it does print, it misses lines and produces a very mess print. Can you suggest ways to resolve these problems. Thank you.

Hello.
Remove the cartridges, then the head itself by lifting the lever attached to the side of the cartridge holder. Sit the head part in a saucer of boiled water, making sure no water touches the contacts on the front of the head unit. Leave for 5 mins and replace in the printer.
While the head is out inspect the cartridges "bed" inside the printer. there is a sponge that the head rests on when the printer is idle, this can clog and leave clumps of ink on the head. if so simply place some tissue or toilet paper over the sponge to adsorbs as much ink as possible,
I hope this helps Regards GM

Have error message UO52 print head is incorrect, have installed correct ink cartridges what do I do ?

Hello,

It could in fact be a defective print head problem but try cleaning it first:

(1) Open the printer
(2) Remove the ink cartridges from the print head.
(3) Use cotton swabs dipped in hot water to thoroughly clean the print head.
(4) Repeat this until there is no ink residue coming off on the cotton swab.
(5) Once finished, allow to dry and replace the cartridges
(6) Try to print something now
