I just had a representative from the Geek Squad set up my Epson WorkForce 633 Fax/Printer/Copier. The time that we set up is not what I wanted. I want a 12 hour set up, and I need to reset the clock on...

Below you will find the instructions straight out of the manual. I have also put a link to the whole searchable HTML manual at the bottom of this post Enter the Date and Time Before setting the date and time, you should select the appropriate Daylight Saving Time setting for your region. This setting lets you easily set the clock one hour ahead or one hour back when the time change takes place. 1. Press the fax.6.7.1.jpg Setup button. 2. Select Printer Setup. You see this screen: fax.6.7.2.jpg 3. Select Daylight Saving Time. 4. Select Summer if your region uses Daylight Saving Time and it's currently in effect. (DST is effective from spring through summer.) Otherwise select Winter to turn off the setting. Note:
When you change the setting from Winter to Summer, the clock is automatically set ahead by one hour. When you change it from Summer to Winter, the clock is set back. The setting is not automatic; you need to change it each season. 5. Select Date/Time. You see this screen: fax.6.7.3.jpg 6. Select the date format. You see this screen: fax.6.7.4.jpg 7. Use the numeric keypad to change the date, then press OK. fax.6.7.5.jpg 8. Select the time format. fax.6.7.6.jpg 9. Use the numeric keypad to change the time, then press OK. 10. Press fax.6.7.7.jpg Back until you return to the home screen. Epson Work Force 633 Manual Hope this helps. Zeppelinx12

The same thing happens to me

If the machine is cleaning in the middle of then night, then the clock on the machine is set incorrectly. When the clock is correct, it should clean sometime in the morning/early day (about 9-11 am). You can change the clock setting in (something along the lines of) Menu -> General Settings (the choice at the far bottom in the menu) -> Clock.

Clock problems

Hmmm..maybe it's a left over from Y2K, or Y20004?..Just kidding..The RTC(Real Time Clock) settings on most printers, are preset with a drop down date, which can be managed in the CMOS. Menu has that option, under settings. However, why it's not holding the time after turn off, is most likely a function of the CMOS battery, as you've figured out.

However, that battery is on the controller board, and is usually swapped out as part of the board replacement. I'm sure, if you open up the unit(takes a few steps), you can find a part number on that battery(should be on extreme lower left of the board). Finding an exact replacement, form, fit, and function, is another thing.
