The glo warm heater keeps shutting itself off

    (GLO-WARM 30,000 BTU Propane Heater)

I have to hold the pilot button down for a long time or the pilot flame goes out. When the pilot flame finally does stay lit, I turn the dial to light the burner and it lights and burns as it should, but only for a minute or two and then you will hear a click and the burner and pilot go out. Sometimes it will stay on for several heating cycles as normal, but again you will hear a click and the whole thing, pilot flame and all, goes out. There is plenty of air circulation. I also put a new regulator outside on the tank line. It did not solve the problem.

These are vent-free heaters and use an oxygen-depletion sensor to shut a unit off if there is not a sufficient amount of oxygen available for combustion. It is either doing it's job and you may have to open or crack a window while it's operating.

SOURCE: My glo-warm propane heater keeps shutting off automatically-pilot and all.

Clean the pilot and if that does not help replace the thermocouple. Also make sure you have correct ventilation to the room as that can also cause this type of heater to shut down.

THE HEATING ELEMENT MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. USUALLY IT'S CHEAPER TO BUY A NEW HEATER THAN TO REPLACE ANY PART IN ONE.

How do i adjust the flame on ,my glo-warm propane heater?

if there is any adjustment it will be on the gas valve itself under the front of the unit....should have a little door that pulls down....you should see a knob that says "Higher....Lower" something like that....if the knob only says "ON , Off and Pilot" there is no adjustment

Glo Warm Self Venting Heater Model FB3B Emits strong odor

The propane may have a higher sulfur content; however, the odor may go away soon. It is probably caused by the dust and oxidation (micro-rust) that attached itself to every part of the heater while in storage, even though it was "sealed".

We had a problem keeping the pilot light to stay on, and this site recommended that it could possibly be the thermocoupler that was causing our problems also. We ordered the thermocouple, put it on,hooked it back up and it worked great! Thank you so much.
ordered thermocouple from www.masterparts.net
