I haven't got the new board in yet... Waiting to see if i can afford it.. Based on the picture for the new board it does not appear to have new cables and / or groment..

Sorry about that my new email is Willie@FORDTV.COM These are some of the hardest cables to remove. the black wire will come out but you have to pull straight up and with some force. with steady force not quick jerck or you can break the wire. the big red wire usally has a clip gromet under the boot slide the rubber boot up the wire. remove this gromet is difficut. i usally break about 75percent of the one i try to remove. some technicians say freeze spray helps..i never use it the groment holds the wire in the hole there are two slots on the side you that push in.. question did the new flyback on the board have a groment..just in case break the old one?

The tv turns on, i can see picture but its too dark.

Try adjusting the screen control on the flyback transformer. It may be accessible without removing the cover . The access hole is usually on the back of the set and wil be marked "screens" Failing that please post the model number

TV Just Started Making a Humming/Buzzing sound

Replacing a flyback is not something I would suggest for anyone with no electronics experience. Second, lets see where the noise is coming from first. Take off the back and listen to the noise. The flyback will be at one end of the large red wires that go to the tubes. Sometimes the connection at the tube is not 100% and the noise comes from there. BE CAREFUL - there are high voltages going through this red wire that can be dangerous even with the set UNPLUGGED!! IF the noise is coming from the connection at the tube, with the set unplugged, carefully turn the rubber cap back and forth touching only the rubber part with one hand. Put the other hand in you pocket while doing this.

If the noise comes from the flyback side, if you can solder, again with the set unplugged, try resoldering the pins on the transformers. That may resolve the problem.

Keep me posted.

Phillips 60" Changing STK392-120 Removing board Model#60PP936H/17

Typicaly you can remove the SSB board on the left without having to remove the flyback wires. If however you are trying to remove the entire deck all at once you will need to remove the flyback wires as indicated.

You do not need to use needle nose pliers. Goto the site www.TvRepairKits.com and click on the "Tips" menu. Under that section you will see instuctions on how to remove the HVG/flyback wires.
Hope this helps,

Wont turn on smell burning

Can you remove the rear panel and check if the hissing is coming from the flyback? Which is a large transformer with a large red wire coming from the top of it? If so can post a link where you can get a replacement their not exspensive and their easy to replace. If its not coming from the flyback post a picture of where the hissing is coming from and I will identify the parts for you, But I feel its the flyback due to the hissing. respond to this same post so I have your correct model number when you reply.
