You have the wrong keyboard setup. make sure your keyboard is setup as USA. In saying this though it maybe faulty... try another one? see if problem stays same if so, then it is ya keyboard "language" set it to US as said B4.

The number lock has been pressed. To turn off the number lock press and hold down the shift key and press the NumLk/ScrLk key. The NumLk LED will turn off, to indicate that the number lock has been turned off.
u may have tried this already, but this has happened to my keyboard, and instead of pressing it down, sliding it in from top to bottom always works for me. though this only works with laptop keyboards, if ur talking about a desktop then idk
