Question about Sony Ericsson T610

SIM card when i insert my SIM card from my previous phone, it says "Insert correct SIM card." it a T-Mobile SIM card. i took it down to a T-Mobile store and the guy that worked there tried his SIM card but it did the same thing. i know the card works because i have swapped it out with about 4 different phones, all of which are differnet brands.

    and thats what i thought at first as well. i took it to a wireless phone specialist who tried many different wireless provider chips in it, but it didnt work. he also tryed to unlock it all together. nothing has worked. also, this phone was advertised as a unlocked phone.

    So what I eventually did was call the Sony Ericsson tech support number (1-866-766-9374) and asked if it was indeed locked or not. The agent on the line had me read off a couple numbers on the back to find that, yes it is locked. The agent also thought it was strange because it did not specify which carrier it was locked to. She suggested calling up the company that I bought it from (tigerdirect.com). After getting off the phone with tigerdirect, they had me send it back for an exchange. it will be here in about a week and ill post back to tell anyone who is having this same problem if it worked.

    thats what it seems. hopefully the replacement one i get will work. but if not. do you think there is a possible way to reprogam or alter the firmware/software to get it to work?

Insert correct sim means your phone is lock to the other provider'
means not openline...

    hmmm' i think your phone need to software or re-progran to disable OTP, your phone is 4closed which means even they unlocked it it still not openline' they have to re-program it to disable the OTP....

    a possible way to reprogram it?! yes if there have a gadget and software I'm sure they will fix it. but if there's not i think replacement is the best solution for your prob.

Asha 303 goes off when i insert sim card

I assume you're having a SIM reader malfunction, or your SIM card has lost it's abilities to render your device. Please visit your local mobile provider store for more help.

Do you get this error message?As far as I know there are three chances to get this error..one is the sim may not have been inserted properly...try to insert it in the correct position.There may be an error with the sim try to insert other sim cards into the phone.Another chance to get this error is when you try to insert a sim other than the locked network.If your mobile is locked with a particular network then it will work with only that and will not be able to recognize/accept other networks.Inorder to unlock your phone you can either approach the network provider or third party unlocking vendor like Mobile-unlocker.com and remove the network lock.
Even after all this the problem persist it may be due to some hardware problem try to get in touch with the nearby mobile store.

ya they set the default sim as your phone no. so you can goto the nearest vodafone store and get a new sim on the same number and insert the same .because the phone may be locked

all you have to do is clean out the phone insert the sim in correct way, if this does not work then get a new sim or excahnge the phone for a new one

My pantech matrix cell phone says insert sim card


This problem arises sometimes because the mobile is unable to read the SIM. May be you should fold a small piece of paper in the same size of the SIM and keep it on top of the SIM and then insert the Battery. I think this will solve your problem.

I changed sim card, now they both display ''Insert SIM''


try taking out both cards and popping the battery on the phone.

Wait a few minutes and then turn the phone on with no card in it.

Turn it back off when it says no card found and insert the newer card and power it back up.

It seemed to keep a memory of the blank card.

Need Boost SIM card to work in Nextel Motorola Buzz+ ic602 phone.


I called Boost support about the same issue and I was told that that particular phone and any other Ic series phone by motorola will not work with Boost Mobile. There was also a few other phones that will not work. Try calling thier support line and requesting the list of phones that won't work. Good luck.
