Question about Olympus Stylus 720 SW Digital Camera

Last picture preview

Somehow the setting which allows you to instantly see a preview of the last picture taken has turned off and I can't figure out how to turn it back on. I have to switch modes to review pics to see what I just took. How do I turn that setting back on? Thanks.

On this particular camera, this mode is called "REC VIEW". To change it, hit:

Menu, then Setup, then scroll down to REC VIEW, and set it to "on". Then hit Menu twice to save your changes and you should be able to see your pictures after you take them.

Hope this helps!

The fix should be in the set-up menu. Look through for "post-view", which should control whether the image stays on the LCD after you shoot, and for how long.

Do you have installation software for the stylus? If so, I'd reinstall it and reboot. There should be a setting for you to disable the stylus. You might go to your control panel and try that. Then you can have more time to figure out what went wrong.

Tips for camera

Using the camera:
Your phone has a flash to help you to take pictures in different lighting environments. The flash is on by default, but you can turn it off or use the automatic setting. To set the desired mode when using the camera, select Options > Flash and Flash off, Flash on or Automatic.
Fast viewing with memory card To view your images and video clips quicker, use your memory card as the main memory for storing them.
In the camera application, select Options > Settings > Image / video storage > Memory card.
Capture and send You can send the picture immediately after you have taken it when you are previewing it. To display a picture immediately after you take it, select Options > Settings > Image preview time and the preview time. During the preview time, select Back to take another picture, or Send to send the picture as a multimedia message.
Print your images Your phone supports Nokia XpressPrint to print images that are in .jpg format. To print your pictures, connect your phone to a compatible printer using a data cable or send the image by Bluetooth to a printer supporting Bluetooth technology. Select the image you want to print from the Gallery, and when viewing the picture, select Options > Print.

My camera problem is: No display when you are ready to take picture but the old pictures can be seen if you will view it.

Guess you have turned off the preview feature by mistake. This will make your batteries last longer but make it difficult to take good pictures.
Turn on the Preview feature.

The batteries do not last more that one photo session. This has been so since new. Why is this and can this be improved on?

Multiple possibilities exist.
How long and how many pictures do you consider as a photo session?
What size picture are you taking? High res or low res.
Are you using the flash?
Are you using picture instant preview?
Are you using auto-focus?
These will ALL use power and help to drain the battery. The 3 largest users are the preview, flash and resolution settings.

No picture on the back screen

this means that the plug from the lcd is out ..and i need s to be open and put it back ..probably a shock ( mechanical) it is to blame ...cause if you remove batteries it should be reset itself to defaults and have preview picture...also ..with that buton on the back moved to the right should bring the picture view on ..to see the last pic taken or the picture in teh memory ..if the display os black most af the time it means that it has an imperfect contact but is still functional and only the ribon that it is plugged on it and makes communication with the unit its to blame ...if you are handy you may try to open it ..but I advice just to get help cause its tricky ...and sensitive ...

Display screen no longer works while taking pictures

Sounds like they accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of the camera. This manually turns the screen on and off to save batteries. You would then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn the screen back on, just press the DISP button one more time with the camera turned on.

Delayed preview image

Sounds like you accidentally pressed the DISP button on the back (it manually turns the LCD screen on and off to save batteries). Turn the camera on and press the DISP button once. Hopefully that should fix it.
