Washer is not dumping water gives me a code of ld. I canceled the cycle and even unpluged it but still does the same. sounds like motor spinning but no water

most likely a clogged pump drain find it below the drum usually under a plastic lid bottom left if not under the lower panel below the door

find the 3 screws and remove the cover panel and clean the pump by twisting the pump valve cover counter clockwise

WHIRLPOOL CABRIO WASHER ERROR LD The Cabrio Washer LD error code stands for Long Drain which means the control has recognized the water in the tub is not draining fast enough during the cycle.

1. Make sure the pump and drain hose are clear of debris that would cause a blockage.
2. Check the impeller on the drain pump and make sure its not wobbly or busted.
3. Remove the tub hose from the pump to the tub and check it for blockage.
4. Make sure the pump is running when and getting the proper voltage when it should be.
5. If all the above checks out then replace the drain pump motor.

For the LD error please check for the following:

• Check for kinked or clogged Drain Hose: Remove any obstructions in the drain hose / stand pipe / utility sink. Straighten the hose to remove any kinks. If the washer is unable to drain due to a kinked or restricted drain hose, the washer may not spin.
• Check for Standpipe higher than 8 feet above the floor:The pump is not powerful enough to pump water to heights greater than 8ft. The water will remain in the basket.
• Check for excessive suds in the washer: Drain pumps cannot drain suds out of the washer.

To clear the suds condition: Check the drain hose and make sure the hose is not plugged or kinked Press pause/cancel twice to clear the display Run the machine through a Rinse/Spin cycle using cold water, then a Normal cycle using cold water.Note: Do NOT add any additional detergent. This will remove much of the remaining detergent held in the fabric. This step may have to be repeated to remove all the detergent. If the appliance does not accept inputs from the control panel, follow the Hard Reset steps below to reset the control:

• Unplug or turn the circuit breaker off for 30 seconds.
• Plug the power cord into the wall outlet or turn the breaker back on and wait 30 seconds.
• Press the Pause / Cancel / Stop button twice to clear the display.
• Start a short cycle, to check operation of the appliance, by selecting a cycle and pressing and holding the start button until the appliance starts.

Note: If the Hard Reset does not work, there may be an internal failure with the appliance, that requires service.The SD error code is caused by using the wrong detergent or excessive amounts of detergent.

an LD code indicates a long drain was detected by the control.check for a kink in the drain hose. the most common reason for this code is something caught in the pump. many times a piece of clothing(small sock,shoe lace or string from a sweatshirt etc..) gets stuck and restricts the water flow to the drain...the pump can be removed by tipping the washer forward approx 45 degrees(use something to prop the washer up so it doesnt fall all the way to the floor)then remove the back panel. the pump will be gray &have 2 hoses. calypsos used 2 styles of pump . one was integrated into the pump motor and the other was attached to the pump motor with 2 springclips.remove the clamps on the hoses and see if you can see whats caught inside..if the foreign object is wrapped up in the pump too tightly you will have to replace the pump..if you have to replace the pump and it comes as part of a new motor.,the front panel will have to come off to unplug the pump motor and plug in the new one. there is a space at the top of the front panel where it meets the lid, use a putty knife to release 2 clips so you can lift the lid up. you will see several screws along the top.remove them and the front panel will come off . you wil be able to see where the pumpmotor plugs in. . you will have to work in front and behind the washer. always unplug the washer before doing any work on your appliance. hope this helps get you back up and running...

This error code may also be used if there is a disagreement between the motor and machine controllers on the stat if the lid switch. The control should not allow the unit to run in this condition.

This code will also appear if the user presses the START key while the lid is open.

ld sure sounds like lid switch problems. Suprised to see this so soon, but I did see one come apart on a fairly new Whirlpool. Luckily, it should be easy to check. Unplug the machine first.

Basically, it sounds like your drain pump is bad or clogged, and the extra water is throwing the spin cycle off balance

remove the harness and replace it is what this will lead to,just watch and you'll see

Ld means long drain you probally have a bad water pump.Those models have a seperate motor for pump, the shaft on the motor is a star type and has probally stripped out the pump.Replace your water pump
