Question about ViewSonic VA712B 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

Viewsonic warranty I sent my lcd tv to them 2 months ago and they stated that it would be returned within 2 wks. I have called them serveral times and all I get is a run around about how they change there computer systems and they are having difficulty. First off when you spend almost $1000 for a tv is should last you more then 4months and secondly I would think that they would offer to ship it back to them free of charge and not have to pay $78 more ship it back. I went out and brought a quality tv for my kids so they could use there Wii that I got them for Christmas since there Viewsonic hadn't arrived yet. We have had a similar problem with Viewsonic Warranty. We have spoken to them three times now, with each time resulting in several hours on the phone and still our problem is not resolved. We have an IN WARRANTY Viewsonic Flat Panel Monitor with a failed power supply. One rep actually suggested we go out and buy a power supply at an electronics store, the other promised faithfully it would be shipped priority the next day, but we are still waiting. This has been on going for over 2 months now. Today, I requested to speak to a supervisor but they are all " in meetings" or "unavailable" for one reason or another. And they are also telling me it will be another 2 weeks before our power supply will be shipped??? Some warranty!

    I'VE had my tv for 8months a 37" lcd... ok **** happens
    bu,t customer care would not let me talk to a super bucause when
    they shipped it back from some not MY LANGUAGE LAND it was messed up
    again ... telling me that he would tell me the same big
    words....did you read are warranty you have to do this and that ..
    LIKE, SHIP IT BACK for another 7-10 days

    IT'S a SHAME that my old tv of 15years never gave me a problem . thank
    GOD i didn't get rid of it.... NEVER BUY THIS PRODUCT AGAIN AND WHEN I

    Thanks for all your replies......... we finally DID get a power supply but after another 2 1/2 weeks. Then, GUESS WHAT? We got a second power supply a few days later! You think I should send it back to them because they made a mistake and shipped me two? NOT!!!!

    Now I have a spare, just in case. Maybe I should sell IT......... and make a few bucks for my time.

I've had several problems with Viewsonic screens, and not only with screens but also with their technical support which would litteraly take monthes to proceed with the replacement of faulty screens.

Two things you should know :

You can find spare power supply cards, it's easy to open the screen and take out the power card so that you can see the reference, usually a card like that costs about 10$, not a big deal for saving the screen

The other thing is that you shouldn't buy Viewsonic screens anymore, there are brands from asia like Hyundai (for workstations) or Samsung for personal use, who have a way better technical support, the best part being that you usually never have to call them :)

Sound no picture

Like stated before--May be another bad blub, especially if you used a generic or Neolux one. A phillips bulb WILL work right. Mits sets do NOT like generic bulbs !!

you can call ViewSonic Customer Support: 800-688-6688 in the U.S. and 866-463-4775 in Canada, give them your product serial no and they would be able to give you the status on your product warranty.

In case you want to avail the warranty service they would also give you a RMA (Return Material Authorization number) number.

As mentioned on ViewSonic website "ViewSonic LCD computer display products carry a three (3) year limited warranty for parts, labor and LCD backlight. Optiquest products carry a limited warranty of one (1) year for parts, labor and backlight. In order to receive warranty service, proof of purchase of the ViewSonic product is required."

Monitor Keeps going off

As it's less than 3 months old the it is still under warranty so return it for replacement.

Seems like a hardware problem. Something is probably overheating or something like that.

I would suggest either returning/exchanging the TV (2 wks is usually in most return policies) or if you can't do that, register your TV with panasonic. After registering, call them up for service covered by your 1 yr warranty.

I have viewsonic monitor,which audio is not workin?

Call viewsonic and they will give you an RMA, ,you will have to pay the shipping and packing costs, it was $70.00 when I sent mine in around 6 months ago, they will fix it and pay the return shipping. Get the RMA first though or they won't take it. Thew power board blows on them and must be replaced, and they won't send you the board, so u must send them the monitor.

Was having problems with my vx922 lcd display.

Sounds like my problem that I fixed by sending back for repair.
I read that these VX922 monitors are affected by dodgy capacitors on the power board.
I had the monitor for over 2 years. Viewsonic picked it up, yep u guessed it... changed 2 caps on the powerboard sent it back all within 2 days, under warranty. I got my awesome monitor back. Its all good!

Get the RMA, I had no problems whatsoever with thecustomer service folks. They answered email within 1 business day, shipped off the monitor last week...

sounds like the power supply is out, should be in warranty no matter where you bought it, call 1-800-SAMSUNG

Viewsonic warranty

Did you buy the TV online? Otherwise the retailer should be able to provide an exchange on a TV only that old. If you bought it online then you are kinda stuck in that situation. Although there are great benefits to buying online, one of the major problems is handling warranty claims on merchandise. Sorry for your problems. One thing you can do to maybe give them some incentive is to speak to a manager and tell them if you do not have your television fixed and back within the next two weeks, you will contact the Better Buisness Bureau and report them.
