Re: scanner error on screen
Turn off printer, open scanner cover. On the right handside of scanner glass there is a switch in which you can toggle to lock and unlock position. toggle it 3x and set it to unlock. turn on printer. you should be able to make use of printer now..

The 357 error is usually caused by a paper jam or even a small bit of paper or such getting stuck inside the printer. First try using a flashlight to see if there's anything visibly stuck inside.
If you cannot find anything stuck inside then the best choice would be to take it into canon repair center and get a quote on fixing it. If it's under warranty still they can fix it for free.
There is a lengthy repair you can do, but unless you are knowledgable with doing printer repairs, I don't recommend it.
This is a problem in scanner section on your printer. You need to
disassembly the printer and pull out the scanner section.Open the cover
of scanner section and you'll see the mirrors inside. You need to clean
the ash from these mirrors using cloth which leaves no hairs. WARNING! If you don't have a technical skills don't try to do anything. If this not help you need to replace the scanner section.

I need more
information to offer a definitive solution, but I can give you some information
that might help diagnose the problem. Unless you
forgot and tried to use it locked…then unlocked it after, it seems unlikely
that changing the ink could directly affect anything related to the scanner. So
especially if it still scans and now just makes more noise then before, we can reasonably
say it isn’t a faulty locking mechanism and that the gears are probably not
stripped, which would either stop it or not. So you’re looking at either something
simple like the gear assembly being dry, shifted slightly, etc. or the safety by
the lock that makes noise to tell you the device is locked is stuck somehow.
The one can be tested by removing the little plastic safety that makes the
noise when the scanner is turned on and locked; the other you might be able to
test with some WD40 and see if it runs quieter.
5010 is a scanner error from the scanner on top. Canon has no parts for these and you can only replace the entire top of your machine. If you can get it apart, you might clean and lube, but it's not made to be opened.
