Turn ringer on

Go to Settings > SOUND > Silent mode (No sounds except media and alarms).
If this is ticked (on), it means umts smartphone alarm will sound even if you make the phone silent.
Regarding the loud sound even after reducing ringer volume, no idea for this.

WHAT IS THE STANDBY MODE

Standby mode is when the phone isn't doing anything. You're not talking to someone else, you're not fiddling with the menus, etc. The phone is just waiting either for someone to call you or for you to pick it up to call someone.

One of my lines is blinking red and green and is acting like an intercom

If it is just 1 line, then someone is on that line while you are talking. If there are 2 lines blinking, that would indicate the 2 lines are conferenced.

You're in luck. Without picking up the handset, press PROGRAM the line 1 button, and dial 0 001 (or 01) and STORE. Press PROGRAM to exit.

If I "guessed" right, on your TDA system, you have line 1 back.

Default line

From your phone press PROGRAM dial 19 ENTER (or STORE) x ENTER (or STORE) then exit by pressing PROGRAM (or EXIT)

If x=0 it's no line If 1 (what you want) it's idle line if it's a 2-digit number 01-36 or the CO button, it's a line, and 3 or INTERCOM is the intercom.

How can I use the intercom to talk to someone in another room?

FEATURE 66 AND THE EXTENSION NUMBER. PICK UP YOUR HANDSET AND TALK AND LISETEN. YOU CAN ABUSE THIS BY DOING IT WHILE SOMEONE IS NOT THERE AND THEN LISTEN WHEN THEY GET BACK. BE CAREFUL.

At&T 984 Two people can pick up the same line

This is a feature for in-house conference calls. The problem lies with two people answering the phone very close together. In the handbook, it states that if you want another party in your office or home to join in on a conversation, push the Line button twice. This allows another individual in on the phone call. This also happens in our office. One party answers the phone, while someone else is trying to answer the phone. One of the two individuals inadvertently is the first one to answer and pushes the button 2x. This automatically lets the other individual in on the line. The solution is to make sure if you answer the phone, don't push the button 2x and assume someone has already answered it.

NED Dterm Series E Message Light

I had this problem and finally found a number for Eschelon telecom (763 745 8000). This is what they had me do. Press the Speaker button and then enter 7732. This cleared the blinking light and inmail message. This happens when you receive an internal call and someone leaves you a message to call them back. Still can't figure out how to listen to the message. But this cleared the blinking light.

hope that helps.
