If you're still connected to the router on a wireless PC then you can do the following:

    Start->Run

In the box type "command" with no quotes. A black window will appear. At the prompt in that window type: ipconfig /all

Find the entry labeled "Default Gateway". It will be something like: 192.168.1.1 Start Internet Explorer and type the number you found under Default Gateway in the Address bar and hit Enter. You will prompted for a username and password. The default username for Linksys is blank (literally nothing) and the default password is "admin" with no quotes. If these defaults don't work then you will have to reset the router in which case you'll need to start over with the WEP codes anyway.

Assuming the defaults work you'll need to navigate to the wireless security settings and you should be able to see your WEP codes.

    Good luck.

The most popular wep code is your phone number. if that doesnt work do OHIOTOM's solution. If you need to reset the router, do it this way. PUSH THE RESET BUTTON AT THE BACK OF THE ROUTER FOR 30 SECONDS, UNPLUG POWER FOR 10 SECONDS. NOTE; THIS WILL SET YOUR ROUTER TO FACTORY DEFAULT. If the router is reset, you have to configure it again. This time you can set up a new wep code.

Download the firmware from the Download tab after following the link. You should be able to find user guides and other help for your router there too. Downloading the firmware should allow you to use the router. The CD just contained that info.

I have the wii and i have an error code51330

Error Code: 51330 This error code usually indicates a problem relating to wireless security. Please try the following troubleshooting:
  1. Are you using WEP or WPA security on your router?
    1. Log into the router using the default IP (consult your router's manual for assistance)
    2. Locate the "wireless security" section of your router settings and find the WEP or WPA key.
    3. If you are using 64-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 10-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F.
    4. If you are using 128-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 26-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F.
    5. The WEP Key must be a Hexadecimal (0-9, A-F, no other special characters or letters).
    6. If your router has multiple slots for a WEP Key, make sure the active key is the one in the #1 slot.
    7. If you are using WPA, the Wii console is compatible with the following types:
      • WPA - PSK (TKIP)
      • WPA - PSK (AES)
      • WPA2 - PSK (AES)

  2. If your WEP or WPA key is correct, then the problem might be related to MAC address filtering:
    1. From the router settings, locate the "MAC address filter" settings (also known as "access control", "access list", or "network filter" depending on your router model).
    2. If the Mac address filter is set to "enabled", then you must add the Wii's MAC address to the "allowed" list. You can locate the Wii's MAC address from the "console information" page (located under "Internet" in the Wii Settings).
    3. If the Mac address filter was disabled, then continue troubleshooting.

  3. Check Nintendo's router info for special notes, if available, for your router.
    1. Go to our Wireless Router lookup page.
    2. Use the drop-down box to select, if available, your router manufacturer.
    3. Click on your router's model number, if available.
    4. Read any "special notes" at the top of the router's page. Many issues can be solved by changing settings described in the "special notes."

  4. Try a "Manual Setup" with the Wii console, using your network's IP configuration settings. To access these settings:
    1. On your PC, click "Start" and then "Run."
    2. Type "CMD" into the field that appears to open a new window.
    3. Type "IPCONFIG/ALL" and press "Enter" to display a list of internet settings. Locate the settings asked for by the Wii console during the Manual Setup process and enter them.

  5. Power cycle your router and modem by unplugging them both from the wall. Wait a few minutes, and plug the modem back in. Wait a couple of minutes for the modem to initialize, then turn on the router. Try to connect the Wii console online and test for proper response.
For any further clarification, please revert!
Thanks for asking.

I was trying to configure a wep key for my wireless router (dir-615) on my pc using windows xp, i typed 192.168.0.1 in and all was ok and i generated a wep key but then couldnt get a connection on my...

What you did to set up WEP encryption on the wireless router is correct.
What needs to be done now, is to configure the wireless card in your computer with this WEP encryption code so the wireless router will allow the computer to communicate with the router.
To secure your wireless router from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-
http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security
I suggest you use WPA or WPA2 encryption provided your wireless card supports this encryption because WPA is a later and stronger encryption than WEP encryption.

I need a wep code for an Actiontec GT704-WG. Trying to setup internet connection for wii and the code that is on on the modem does not work .

here is a setup guide to help you get the wep key. Please try the following troubleshooting: Are you using WEP or WPA security on your router? Log into the router using the default IP (consult your router's manual for assistance) Locate the "wireless security" section of your router settings and find the WEP or WPA key. If you are using 64-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 10-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F. If you are using 128-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 26-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F. The WEP Key must be a Hexadecimal (0-9, A-F, no other special characters or letters). If your router has multiple slots for a WEP Key, make sure the active key is the one in the #1 slot. If you are using WPA, the Wii console is compatible with the following types: WPA - PSK (TKIP) WPA - PSK (AES) WPA2 - PSK (AES)
If your WEP or WPA key is correct, then the problem might be related to MAC address filtering: From the router settings, locate the "MAC address filter" settings (also known as "access control", "access list", or "network filter" depending on your router model). If the Mac address filter is set to "enabled", then you must add the Wii's MAC address to the "allowed" list. You can locate the Wii's MAC address from the "console information" page (located under "Internet" in the Wii Settings). If the Mac address filter was disabled, then continue troubleshooting.

Check Nintendo's router info for special notes, if available, for your router. Click here to go to our Wireless Router lookup page. Use the drop-down box to select, if available, your router manufacturer. Click on your router's model number, if available. Read any "special notes" at the top of the router's page. Many issues can be solved by changing settings described in the "special notes."

Try a "Manual Setup" with the Wii console (how to), using your network's IP configuration settings. To access these settings: On your PC, click "Start" and then "Run." HaVE LOST MY WEP KEY FOR MY BELKIN WIRELESS ROUTER. how do I find it ?

Hold down the reset button on the back of the device. This will reset it.
You'll need to plug in a network cable into the pc and the router. Once that is online go to the belkin admin page by opening a web browser and going to this address: http://192.168.1.1
it will ask for a username and password
admin is the username admin is the password
from there configure the device.

Wireless security

the WEP password is located on the label on the botom of your router. The WEP password prevents unotherize conecting to the network. If some one for example like your naber see your network and conects to but put in the wrong WEP they will not be able to use your internet.

I lost the instillation CD and need the wep code

The WEP code is whatever you make it when you set up the wireless connection. If you have lost this key. It is best to use the manual reset located on your wireless router. Will require a small point like a paperclip. Then you will have to access the router and set up the wireless internet over again. Then you can secure it with a new WEP key.
If you need further assistance please ask me.
Thanks,
