Question about Conexant All 56K Modems: Amigo V.92 Low-Profile Modem (MODOE5606)

Computer cant connect to internet

I have Conexant HDA D110 MDC V.92 modem, and all ISP's I tried says the same thing. Can't connect to internet and to call customer service. they are no help either. What's the problem. I connected to aol for a week then no more. They were no help also.

Modem Device on High Definition Audio Bus!! dell d620 in my laptop dsl is not working it disconnected again n again why please help me


Maybe it's an driver installation order problem, the system needs the audio drivers installed prior to the modem since I believe they are both on the High Definition Bus. Here is Dell's official install order for the D620 with integrated Intel graphics...


1. Install the Dell Notebook System Software on a Dell Portable system from the Drivers, Utilities and Applications CD.
2. Install the Intel® Mobile Chipset Driver.
3. Install the SigmaTel STAC92xx Audio Driver.
4. Install the Alps GlidePoint/StickPointer Driver on Your Dell Portable System

Frequently modem shuts down for no particular reason and must be restarted by turnig power off and on repeatedly. Ethernet a nd internet lights go off when this happens.


If you are using dsl or faster connection, you don't need your modem anymore. Your computer works fine if you unplug the modem. Except if you still using dial up connection, so in that case buy a new modem.

Your ethernet card is not working and it seems to be damaged so if your laptop in under warranty so replace it free from the service center. Otherwise they will take charges for this replacement.

You can download the drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model laptop, better still type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop. Also make sure you select the Windows XP or Vista version of the driver for your Windows operating system.

the dial up speed is very slow, you will need to get a DSL or other faster internet connection.

theres noting you can do to speed up a 56k modem/

Modem replacement inspiron 2200


Do you have access to another laptop that you could test the new modem in? Sounds to me like the new one maybe faulty :(

Try uninstalling the old one whilst its in via device manager then shut down and put new one in. If it doesnt detect it then its faulty.
