Remove any cartridges, take a can of air and blow it out, especially any sensors (which would be up under a small black piece of plastic sticking up in the paper path... that's the actuator). Once you've done that, try it again. If that doesn't work, try cleaning the roller and feed tires in the paper path with soap and water on a rag, or a gentle non abrasive cleaner such as simple green. That should take care of most jams unless its tires or clutches are worn out.

Please check rear door area for paper, can you use manual feed slot? Power off machine with all jams removed and paper loaded, then power on, can you tell us exact error message/lights that are shown in this state?
