I have a 6500 lp onan marquis generator in my rv. It starts then stops after 15 seconds or so. I did a code check on it using the manual and it read code 47. Controller not reading generator running. Any suggestions? This is a 2007 model.

Check for shorted stator windings and/or armature.

I have a 6500 lp onan marquis generator in my rv that wont start. any suggestions?

Check the fuel. If old, drain & refill it.
Check for spark.
If the fuel is there and good, trace it to the carburetor. Check the carburetor bowl for fuel.
Check the spark plug, the magneto, any switch that breaks the circuit or kills the circuit for spark.
If you're getting good fuel to the carburetor and you're getting good spark, try to start it with ether spray.
You might also want to check compression while you're checking everything else.

Onan genarator will not crank

If it wont crank, check to see if the solenoid on the starter pulls in, the starter and solenoid are one unit, it sounds like an internal starter contact, if you have 12V going to it. Assuming the battery is good. When you press and hold the stop button does the fuel pump pump prime? if so control board has power

Onan 5500 RV generator starting issue

Sound like a dead battery, or poor battery volatge getting to the unit. The clicking is fuel pump and or solenoid trying to pull in.

Either you have a kill wire ( if I remember it is the brown wire) that is disconnected on one end or the other Or your in coach switch is bad.
Check the switch this way

Remove the switch from the dash/ mounting surface unplug the brown wire - start the genset - ground the brown wire - it should kill the motor
If it kills the motor your switch is bad

ONANS ARE PRETTY QUIRKY AS IT IS NOT CONSUMER FRIENDLY. THE GENSET IS DESIGNED FOR ROUTINE AND SIMPLE MAINTENANCE PERFORMED BY THE OWNER, AFTER THAT, U WILL NEED TO TAKE IT TO THE NEAREST DEALER OR CUMMINS DIESEL REPAIR SHOP.

My Onan Marquis 6500 LP generator works fine in Iowa (close to sea level), but when I travel to Denver (high altitude) it runs for a few minutes then stops. I can't seem to find a way to adjust for high altitude. Any help would be appreciated.
