this sounds like it is doing something called a "hex dump" basicaly printing all ASCII characters. okis tend to do this from time to time if l;eft on for a significant period with no data sent to it. the only advice given by oki is to switch it off when not using it unfortunatly

I found the service manual for this, which should come in really handy for you when performing maintenance on your printer (which is most likely what you need to do to the printer)
Funny thing is that there are a lot of people trying to sell these manuals, so I'd save this one for future use (it might not be on this link for long)
