I have a ps2 slimline black Model no: SCPH-75001 when I load a game that i played last night I get an "The disc could not read" on my screen.
Do you have any suggestions as to what this means. It does it on all my games.

Just take the disk out for a min and give a good wipe and without spittin, blow inside the umd tray. The laser going bad is a pretty common issue with the drives, spindle motor could be all gunked up with dirt as well and cause that issue also.
or it could just be the laser. can also try and clean the laser lens.

If it isn't spinning then a nob in the top right corner of the disc protector (built into the playstation) is broken off. Where The disc would have spun is a hole to the BOTTOM right. Inside that hole is a switch that the nob would have pushed when you closed the disc protector. Find something to push the switch. I used the A/V jack from my wii. Yes i had the same promblem...

make shaw its not a ps3 game, not trying to be patronizing but ive had 3 people do that brought ps3 games and try to put them in ps2, its true sony are rip off merchants, my advise is not to get a wii ether go for a xbox 360, he will love you for ever. the download content alone you can get for rock band1/2 and guitar hero world tour is worth it
Believe me or not, i have the exact same PS2 model no PS2. Most models had Lens problems of 75001, si thats the reason, I chnaged my PS2's lens for 25$ and now all's fine, so change yours too mate!
Some ps2 models have defective lens coils that wont properly focus the lazer beam on the disc ive had this happen to me before, but to fix it, it requires you to replace the reader head. I can walk you through it, but only if you are comfortable in dissassembling/reassembling the ps2 with the chance of perminately harming your ps2 or yourself. Id advise you to take it to a repair shop for fixing.
