All the figures on the programme selctor dial of my Zanussi FLA 1001W washing machine have now worn off. Consequently I now have difficulty selecting the correct settings. Can I buy a new dial anywhere, or can I see a picture/drawing of the dial so that I can remark the settings on my own ?

You can choose the right programme for any type of laundry following the descriptions on the washing programme tables (see «Washing Programmes»).
Turn the programme selector dial to the required programme. The programme selector determines the type of washing cycle (e.g. water level, drum movement, number of rinses) and the washing temperature according to the type of laundry.
The pilot light of button 8 starts blinking.
The selector dial can be turned either clockwise or anticlockwise. Position "0" to Reset programme/ Switching OFF of the machine. At the end of the programme the selector dial must be turned to position "0", to switch the machine off.
If you turn the programme selector dial to another programme when the machine is working, the yellow pilot light of button 8 will blink 3 times and the message Err is displayed on the display to indicate a wrong selection. The machine will not perform the new selected programme.
Turn the programme selector dial to the required programme.
The selector dial can be turned either clockwise
or counter-clockwise. The green pilot light of the button
9 starts flashing: the appliance is now switched on.
If you turn the programme selector dial to another programme
when the appliance is working, the red pilot light
of the button 9 will flash 3 times and the message Err is displayed to indicate a wrong selection.
The appliance will not perform the new selected programme.
• To switch the appliance off, turn the programme selector
dial to the position .
• To cancel or change a running programme, switch the
appliance off by turning the programme selector dial to the
position . Select the new programme by turning the selector
to the desired programme. Start the new programme
by pressing the button 9 again. The water in the tub will be
not emptied out.
An error has occurred with reading the programme selector control. This can be resolved simply by turning it to "0" and selecting a programme again. If this doesn't cure the problem you may need to seek professional help.
To display Error Code: Move Programme Selector to the Off postion. Press the 2 buttons on the right and turn the selector 1 position clockwise and hold the 2 buttons for about 5 seconds until all the lights are flashing. Release buttons and turn the selector to the 10th position. The Error Code will be displayed. Note the code then turn the selector to off ,then on,then off again.
You need to check the brushes in the motor first, replace if less than 3 or 4mm long.
If brushes o/k, then could be a module or motor problem, apart from the belt being broken or worn of course.
Hope this helps.
Hi does the machine fill with water? If the machine programme dial does not move then it is more than likely to be the heat cycle that needs looking at!
If you are local to me then we can arrange a visit to repair.
I looked in the website Washdoctor gave you and found a user's manual for your washing machine at this link: http://www.serviceforce.co.uk/pdfs/U23063.pdf There's an diagram of the control panel on page 6.
