My nokia 7610 says unable to perform bluetooth operation

When you get an error "unable to perform Bluetooth operation", it means that one of the Bluetooth devices is not communicating correctly. It could be your phone, or it could be the Bluetooth device that you are trying to connect to. And that will depend on the device that you're connecting.

There's a possibility that the Bluetooth requirement of your device is not supported by your Nokia phone. Example, you are trying to pair up a Bluetooth handsfree car kit. "IF" the phone does not support the handsfree profile, then you will get this error message.

So, you need to make sure that your device and your phone is compatible with each other. Second, try to pair up the phone into different Bluetooth devices, like phones, headset, etc. Doing this will let you know if the Bluetooth on your phone is working or not. If it works with another Bluetooth devices, then the problem has something to do with the device that you are trying to connect to.

Thank you and good luck!

I have a cark-11 bluetooth adaptor for my car.

  1. Press and hold the "Answer/redial" (green) button and the "Volume down" button together until you hear a tone and the blue LED begins to flash.
  2. Be sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone. Follow the documentation provided with your phone to search for new devices.
  3. Select CARK 11 from the list of Bluetooth devices on your phone.
  4. Enter the passcode: 1234.
  5. The LED stops flashing when the phone is paired.
Note: You may follow the above steps to pair up to four phones. Pairing a fifth phone causes the first paired phone to be deleted.

Trying to connect Nokia 5800 to prowave bluetooth car kit

you have to make your phone visible to other devices. to do this, go under settings, make sure bluetooth is on, then adjust the visibility of the phone Settings
Select Menu > Settings and Connectivity > Bluetooth.
When you open the application for the first time, you are asked to define a name for
your device. You can change the name later.
Select from the following:
? Bluetooth — Turn Bluetooth connectivity on or off.
? My phone's visibility — To allow your device to be found by other devices with
Bluetooth wireless technology, select Shown to all. To set a time period after which
the visibility is set from shown to hidden, select Set visibility period. To hide your
device from other devices, select Hidden.
? My phone's name — Edit the name shown to other devices with Bluetooth wireless
technology.
? Remote SIM mode — Enable or disable another device, such as a compatible car kit
accessory, to use the SIM card in your device to connect to the network
