I need to replace the SIM card on my new Razr2 V9. Instructions in user guide are useless. Can anyone quickly tell me the secret to removing the battery on this phone?
Thanks,
Mark
I had a heckuva time getting the battery cover off my Motorola V9. Essentially both of these work because the phone, our hands and our fingers are a bit oily. Get two piece of non-skid rubber stuff like the things you use to open stuck jar lids. If you have none, jump to Solution B.
Solution A:
1) Lay the phone face down on one piece of the non-skid surface with the Moto logo on the rear facing you and the hinge away from you.
2) Take the other piece of non-skid, place it on the back and with one thumb on either side of the Moto logo press down and away from you. The cover should pop off!
Solution B:
1) Wash your hands thoroughly with hot water and soap, then dry well to removed excess skin oil.
2) With an alcohol prep or a tissue dampened with rubbing alcohol, wipe the OUTER surfaces of the phone down to removed excess skin oil. DON'T SOAK THE PHONE! Wipe your fingers and thumbs down with the alcohol, let dry, and try again: just hold the phone face down in your two hands, HINGE AWAY, press down and away with your 2 thumbs on either side of the logo and ...ta da!
I have a RAZR V3C and the rear battery panel has to be removed first to gain access to the battery.
Looking at the rear of the RAZR and at the top, there should be a chrome spring-loaded panel that you can push in with your finger nail. That will unlock the rear panel.
Once the battery cover is removed, the battery will pop out by grabbing ahold of it at one end and lifting the end up and out.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.
Good luck!

Thumb on the logo works..thanks
ONE thumb under the logo instead of two. I finally got it.
The V9 doesn't have the latch that the V3s had, they just slide off.
Put your thumb on the moto logo in the back and slide the panel up(toward the hinge) until it pops, then turn the phone over and it will fall off. Once the cover is off there's a tab at the top of the battery you can use to lift it out.
