It sounds like a bad panel...but if water got down inside the tv...and
onto the electronics!!!.....you might have blown the Scalar bd...which
converts digital info to the panel. Very unfortunate...exactly how did
it happen???....and how much water got inside?....i went to the
panasonic website and researched replacement parts...they do not list
any component parts...only a parts change bulletin for the stand....you
will have to call them(1-800-572-2672)..and see if there are parts
available..and possibly where there is a service center near you...i
hope you have some warrantee on this unit...it would save you some cash
    on the parts/labor

Is there a process known to man that cleans windex streaks off an lcd screen?

How to Clean an LCD Screen
So, first of all, let's decide what we don't use to clean it:
Anything containing bleach or ammonia, such as Windex. That will react with the plastic and make the plastic screen become cloudy and discolored.
Anything sharp, pointy or abrasive.
Your easiest choice is one of those LCD cleaning solutions they sell in places where they sell computers. But they're expensive, and why bother when you can make your own solution for next to nothing?

What you'll need:
Distilled water (available at your supermarket; tap water leaves streaks and minerals).
White vinegar (you may substitute isopropyl alcohol; either way, make sure these substances are diluted before they come near your screen).
A clean, soft cloth (never use any kind of paper product).
A spray bottle.

Directions:
In the spray bottle, mix the distilled water and alcohol/vinegar, in a 1:1 ratio.
Turn off the LCD display.
Spray the mixture onto the cloth, never directly onto the screen.
Wipe gently - oh, so gently - from top to bottom. Do it horizontally, too, if you think that leaves a cleaner result.
Let the screen dry before turning it back on.

Hands Off!
Fingers leave dirt and oil smudges that must be cleaned off. Also, every time you touch the screen you risk doing damage to those tiny creatures inside that hold the colored flashlights. Keep your fingers to yourself.

My son sprayed water on my Emerson TV and now it want work. What can I do?

it tells you in the manual not spray the screen with any cleaner. there are a few componets water can drip into. unless you understand how to work on a power supply it is going to need a tech for repair.

Tv was cleaned with water yesterday on the screen and today one side is duller and the picture is shaking. When first turning it on the left side of the screen is white and right side is black

I'm afraid you have gotten some water where it never should be; the current controlling the millions of pixels is being bled off.

If you live where heat is now available, place the set (power disconnected) where it is exposed to warm air.

If the sun is shining and you can place the set with the back facing the sun, let it sit for a while and you might try prayer that nothing was damaged by currents flowing where they should not.

A little late for suggestions but LCD screens have many hundreds of electrical contacts around the perimeter of the screen and water (or any other liquid) should never sprayed at the screen.

A clean, soft cloth, sprayed (dampened) and gently wiped on the screen should suffice to remove most contaminants.
If the surface of the screen seems to yield (soft to the touch) use extreme caution with pressure.

Good luck-

How do i clean the tv screen on my flat screen tv

Get a soft fine cotton cloth, dry and clean. Never use paper towels or tissues or even a bath towel as these will scratch the screen. Get some distilled water. You can buy distilled water at the grocery store. Get a clean spray bottle with a very fine spray and fill the bottle with the distilled water. Now add just a little isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol). Spray the liquid on the cloth and swipe from top to bottom on the screen until the screen is cleaned. Distilled water is better than tap water because it is more pure with minerals removed which would scratch the screen. The alcohol acts as a solvent to help remove dust and deposits. Never touch the screen with your fingers as they have oils which will leave a film on the screen. Never use a lot of alcohol. You want mostly water with just a hint of the rubbing alcohol mixed in.

Colorful spots on tv when turned on. Have to turn off and on several times to get rid of most of them

Possible static charge on screen, you may have to clean screen with mild soap and water, Damp cloth only! Do not let excess run down the screen! Also check the outlet to be sure there is a ground pin and path on the AC cord..... Carpeting can hold a charge, use a humidifier or spray the carpet with Frebreeze or antistatic spray....

What products can I use to clean my childrens hand prints off of the screen?

The recipe is easy: Mix Isopropyl alcohol and distilled water in equal parts (50/50) inside an empty Windex-like bottle. Do not use tap water! Doing so will leave white smears on your screen after cleaning it up because of the dissolved minerals inside the water. When finished mixing, just close the bottle using the "spray" adaptor that comes attached to it.

Next, you will need to find a good, soft piece of microfiber cloth to clean your display. Avoid paper tissues at all cost! Using those on your screen would be just like scrubbing sandpaper on it and may scratch it permanently. You wouldn't want to do that right?

Now that we have everything we need, start by turning off your screen. Dampen your piece of soft cloth with your cleaning mixture and then wipe the display gently from top to bottom. Never spray liquid directly onto the LCD. When you're done, wait a few minutes to let your screen dry, and then turn it back on. Voila, you're done! Your screen should now be sparkling clean.
