How many copies on the machine? does it go away once you print for awhile? Check the fuser assembly for wear

Possibly dirty optics or bad drum retaining charge which may be a bad erase lamp.

Ghosting appears often because of bad toner. If cartridges have been refilled, they have wrong toner in them. If drum has worn out it will usually tell you. All parts for this machine cost too much. If toner is not the problem, probably best to get a new machine rather than pay to get it fixed. Brothers are cheaper to run.

RICOH FW740 is printing with a ghost image. Can I clean it myself?

Ghost images appear on the printed page because of bad cleaning blade or improper charging of the drum unit. Ghost images appear on the next printed page if cleaning blade does not clean the drum surface. Drum/ photoconductor is very sensitive to light, so special care should taken while pulling it out. I am getting a ghost image of what I am printing repeating down the center of the page.

i would say ghost image is more likelly your imaging drum.

some printers have the imaging drum built into the cartridge some have it separate.

i would say try another cartridge

also don't trust remanufactured cartridges if you are concerned with print quality.

Hi

sounds like either you fuser rollers need to be replaced or you need a new drum and cleaning blade, those 2 items will cause ghosting,

good luck

Double printing in my samsung 3160 fn

Double printing, such as second "ghost" image has nothing to do with cleaning, but with the drum unit. Print out the System Data Report (Press [MENU] until "System Configuration", then right arrow until "Reports", press [ENTER] and then right arrow until "System Data". Press [ENTER] twice to confirm.

With the report on hand, check the total color prints. If they are near 12,000 pages, change the drum. Be advised, the Image Unit (drum) is an expensive consumable. Part number is CLP-300A.

Be blessed.

Printouts have type ghosting

Change the fuser unit if you have to hand. The problem is likely caused by a lack of pressure from the pressure roller. Also check the transfer roller for a similar ghost image.

Epson C1900 "ghost " images

Sounds like the transfer roller or the fuser unit may be faulty. Look at the fuser to see if the roller surfaces are dirty. If so, replace the fuser.

Laser Printer Problem

Do a panic stop while the machine is in the middle of processing copy. Remove the imaging unit and lift the drum cover to view the surface of the drum. If the image produced on the drum is OK (ie.no ghost image) then focus your attention on the hot rollers just before the paper exit. Otherwise your problem is the imaging unit.
