Question about Nintendo DS Lite Console

2 different nintendo ds lite problems.

I have 2 nintendo ds lite problems. 1 of the ds lites will not charge when i put the charger in the ds all the way the light goes off but then when i take it out half way the light comes on. But it will not stay on. I think there is a short somewhere. I took it to games stop and the lady told me to send it back to nintendo for repair. What should i do? The other problem I have is the screen came half way off and the top screen doesn't show the game that is playing. What should i do? Or where can I send it and how long does it take to return?

The best solution is that you send them nintendo ds!! Because charger jack is short and problem with display is serious!!! Probable it's last maybe for one month!!
Good luck.

Ok first of all i would advice you to take it back to nintendo if it is still under its warranty period.
if not i shall suggest something for your first problem. just open your set and see for any place burnt or any damage in power board of that portion.
this will lead you to find some bad culprit of that board and you can replace that component alone.
if you are able to see some burnt thing then sending back to nintendo will be the best option.

as for now open the set and see if u can find anything visually.

Since you cannot repair that easily, going to a repair shop is a wise idea... They do the solving for you... anyway you can wait for it or even watch them do the repairing stuff... Soon you'll discover what went wrong...

Goodluck... Fixya me!

Nintendo DS Lite - does not charge

i would suggest trying to find what the issue is, if you know anyone who has a different charger, try it on your daughter's ds. if it still doesn't work, it's a DS problem...if it's under warranty, go to whatever store you bought it at and have them fix or replace it. If you try the different charger and it DOES work, then the only problem is the charger...so then all you have to do is go buy a new charger...hope this helps.

Nintendo DS will NOT charge

My guess is that the problem resides in the charger. You can buy a dual use charger for the DS and DS Lite at GameStop for relatively cheap.

Ds lite charging lite comes on but when i press power button nothing happens

Are you leaving the DS charge until the light comes off? Remember that there are two likes too, one for charging and one for power. If you're just charging for some random period of time (lets say... One hour) then your Battery isn't going to be fully charged. The best way to ensure that your DS Lite is charged is to leave it charge until the charge light turns off. You can play your DS Lite while you are charging (I do it all the time), but it just means that you're just running off of the outlet.

A good test is to charge it fully (until the charge light comes off), unplug the charger cord (Make sure it's secured tightly to your DS while charging), then play for a little bit, your light should be a normal color (green).

If you cannot even play by using the outlet, then you need to
find a charger cord that actually works (You may need to send in the charger for replacement). If the same thing happens with 2 different batteries (assuming that you have two official Nintendo batteries).

TIP: Also run your fingers across the Charger cord. You're going to get a slight friction burn from the rubber, but you're going to get all of the kinks out of the wire in the cord. My charger cord had a similar problem (did not charge all the way, only charged until I moved the DS) but when I ran my fingers across it (pinching) it worked again.

Also check the pins in both charger cords, charging will not work if one pin is missing, nor if any are bent.
