I bought new batteries for my N65 and my camera keeps blinking ERR.

The manual mentions only 2 conditions where the Err message appears. First if it is Err + E at the same time, the film has not completely wound and needs to be reloaded.

If it is Err alone, the manual states to fire the shutter and see if the message remains. If it does, to contact a Nikon Authorized Service Rep.

Err message nikon f-100

Read pages 99-101 of the manual. There are numerous err messages referenced. Some blink others only have the E of Err blink and the like, all with different solutions. If you cannot find the manual call Nikon Film 1-800-645-6687.

When camera is turned on Err show on the screen.

The 'Err' message comes from the lens. Check to see that the aperture ring is correctly set on your lens.

Canon EOS 400D SLR - Err 99

Try going into the menu and turning off the lock for shooting without a lens. Then try firing it without a lens to see if it works. Very often a lens problem can cause the Err 99 message.

Also, check to make sure the pop-up flash is not stuck down. That could also cause it.

Unless you have used your camera a LOT, it shouldn't be a bad shutter. They usually only quit after many years of use. I think Canon quotes 125,000 shots as the normal life of a shutter in a digital SLR.

Err message

What model camera? Is it an SLR Camera with a lens attached to the front? Turn the aperture ring (the thing that says f=2.8 (or whatever the number is) and turn it to the largest possible number. That ought to do the trick if the problem is what I think it is  :)
