Does not power on

Well I have this receiver and last night before heard a DVD (not so loud!) the unit just died and does not power on. I´ve tried plug it off from the outlet, baut didn´t work. Actually, I´ve tried everything on the manual, but no...What happened? What should I do?

Thank you, but I´ve checked it and the fuses are ok. However the unit now starts and then (just one second after I think!) turn to off again. A noise like tic-tic when power on stopped. Does the safe protection (or else) cause the problem? Thank you again

You probably blew a fuse in the power supply

it sounds like a power supply problem, especially with the ticking noise.

Hello Todd, I would not suggest trying to repair this unit yourself. I suggest an authorized service but it might be difficult getting parts. Thank you, Onkyo USA

Make certain you have not started some kind of test signal going by looking in the the user manual, if not by all means send it back. Phone or E-Mail the makers helpline first they should sort any problems and confirm you have set it up right.

Will not turn on.

It has an internal problem. Just received an RX-V2600 back from service for the same issue. It took a voltage drop then a spike. It takes out 5 caps and a few other parts. The repair will run roughly 250-275 depending on who does the service. Hope this helps

YAMAHA HTR 5560 KEEPS TURNING OFF

sounds like you have the polairity reversed on the speakers
and yes it does make a difference
check polairity also make sure unit is well ventelated
you wouldnt use your compouter if it was inside a card board box
so make sure the reciever can breath also
recievers get too hot and they start blowing chips off the board

Loud buzzing at the first volume setting

Check all your wires and make sure that none of the wires that are powering any equipment (including extension cords, power bars, and power cables on the unit itself) are running parallel to any of the audio cables going to your speakers or from your inputs to your unit. This could be what's called AC hum, which is caused when the electrical current causes interference that gets picked up by the audio cables and amplified by your system. Just make sure you move the power cords as far away as possible from the audio cables.

Audio can't be heard

Thanks so much for your response to my problem. Last night for some unknown reason I couldn't get into the manual for my devise. This morning I got into it and found the other Volume control and discovered it had somehow gotten to 20% instead of 90-100%! I fixed that and am now set to go again! My "Car Butler" is talking to me loud and clear. Thanks again.
