Re: Displays toner empty but have replaced cartridge
Well..believe it or not, the software that 'reads' the ink levels, CAN sometimes corrupt. You might need to re-install that software set, to get a good reading. IT's one of those 'features' that looks good on paper, yet MAY not always be accurate(like a gas gauge in older cars, that would 'stick' in one position, and leave you stranded on side of road.

When the toner cartridge is completely empty:
• Toner Empty, Replace Toner1 appears on the display.
• The machine stops printing. Incoming faxes are saved in memory.
At this stage, the toner cartridge needs to be replaced.Check the type of the toner cartridge for your machine. (Page 12.1)
There are many well explained steps in the manual.
If you are not using original manufacturer's replacement toner cartridges, this could be your problem, and it will not resolve. The printer and cartridge will not "talk" to each other, therefore giving you a false reading. If this is the case, you should still be able to print normally, but you will not know when you run out of ink until you actually run out, akin to a broken gas gauge in a car.
you have received faxes, but they can't be print until you replace toner because probably you have TONER EMPTY message also on the display.
You can buy only fuse for toner cartridge (25mm, 250V/ 0,063A or 0,1A and maximum 0,125A)
When you pull out toner cartridge you will see the glass fuse on the front left side of the cartridge.

Are you sure it was a full NEW toner cartridge?? Not an old one you had lying around.
If it was a new one the next question line goes as follows.... the machine will say in the display to "Rplace toner soon"...that dosn't mean its empty and to replace it..that means itsLOW and you should have a new toner cartridge "on-hand" because it will soon stop printing and say "REPLACE TONER". At that time the toner cartridge should be replaced, when it is installed a "fuse" on the cartridge blows and resets the toner light on the display. If you installed the toner cartridge when the display was saying "replace toner soon" you have blown the fuse in the new cartridge, now the machine has run about another 100 copies and says "replace toner"....but you now can't reset the light because the fuse is already blown because you may have replaced the cartridge too early!!! WHAT CAN YOU DO if that is the case...you can replace the fuse on the cartridge..its pretty easy to see, just replace it with another mini-fuse of the same rating written on the existing fuse..then put the cartridge in again..the fuse will blow, reset the light and away you will go. When all else fails read the operators manual.
1. Open front door of printer
2. Each cartridge is colored coded to correspond to the toner color shown on the small dislay screen which displays empty or low toner for each color.
3. Remove that cartridge and replace with a new one. Make sure cartridge is seated in printer then close door and make sure it closes flush with the printer gbody otherwise the sensors will think door is open and not allow printer to operate.
If you are not using a samsung manufactured cartridge there is an additionl procedure o turn off the flshing red light on the front nel. Post another question if that is the case.

You can set the machine to ignore the “[Toner Empty]” message and to continue printing incoming faxes.
Ignoring the Toner Empty Message
1 Press Menu until “Machine Setup” appears on the display. 2 Press the scroll button < or > until “Ignore Toner” appears on the bottom line and press Enter. 3 Press the Scroll button < or > to select “On” or “Off”. Select “On” to ignore the [Toner Empty] message. Select “Off” to stop printing incoming faxes when the message appears. This is the default setting. 4 Press Enter to save the selection. 5 To return to Standby mode, press Stop/Clear.
You could try going into the sp modes and check sp 5052-1 this is for independent toner check if the toner cartridge was checked by the copier as empty and you refilled it the machines check of the chip still senses it empty by turning this off it could reset it for you .. I have had some mixed results sometimes it works only occasional failure.. Hope it helps Good Luck A
If the toner is empty it will display this message and the only way I know of getting rid of it is to replace the cartridge. They do make refill kits with extra chips so you can cut the old one out and sticky tape another on. As for a clearing code I am unaware of one for this unit as the information is store in the toner cartridge.
You need to manually reset the CRU counter in the service menu to reset the toner count. This is designed so the xerox tech can come in and get paid for work. What you do is the following:
Enter the service mode by turning the machine off....then hold the (i) button and (<) arrow button simultaniously while turning the machine on. Then go down to nvram access enter menu, then go to CRU menu. Then go to the Toner CRU count menu, then select the toner you wish to reset and allow the machine to reset.
