McQuay PTAC stops working after short time

Sounds like you need a new control board with thermistors. you probably have a relay that is getting hot and quitting.

What do I do to fix the fans? The car is overheating?

if a bad temperature sensor the fan might not come on at all, even though the engine is overheating.check the fan relay and or fuses. if all is fine, run a wire from battery positive to positive connection on fan, to see if the fans work themselves. you may or may not need to ground the fans. Better bring your laptop to a service man, even though you open it successfully, you still need a correct replacement for the defective cooling fan.

It sounds like the fan has etached from its hub. This usually is not repairable if that's the case. Replace the fan.

Changing fan

My solution is one that only works if the vacuum is a spare... To get mad at it and throw it in the garbage...

My thought though on what the problem actually was... Seeing as where the vacuum came from and what the problem was, that it was run with the fan broken causing more damage to the motor and therefore making it impossible to fix with just a fan. I would suggest that if your vacuum sounds different than it has before, stop running it and see if there's something you can do to fix it and if not then don't keep running it. Coins are the main problem with a broken fan and are not made to be sucked up by a vacuum cleaner.
