Question about Black & Decker 5700 Powershot Forward Action Stapler
I am having trouble with a black and decker power, i would like to know how can i assemble it back together, any ideas?
I borrowed my sister in law's PowerShot to put new upholstery on some chairs and after TWO successful staples, it quit working. Any ideas? The spring seems to be in there, but when I press down, there is no resistance. Help?

I need to know how to assemble my power shot. My father-in-law barowed it and when it did not work they way he wanted it to he took it apart and brought it back to me all in pieces. I have no idea how it looked inside before he took it apart. I need to see a photo or something of the inside to see how it goes back together and hope that all the pieces are there.

Just had the same problem I took it apart and put back- it is not htat bad but hard to describe. the problem I had is that there is no resistance. The problem with mine was caused by a broken part. Don't know what it is called but it is the part the hammers the staple if you look at it it located at the front of the stable and connects to the "spring" (which is actually a bent piece of heavy metal, kinda like a strut on a car) the "spring" has 2 prongs at the front a "hook" the slips over a metal nub at the back. The "hammer" piece has to notches one for each prong on the "spring" well one side is broken so when I press the handle down it pushes on a lever (which sits between the prongs) which lifts the hammer shich lifts the prongs on the spring causing the resistance - after a certain point the hammer disengages from the lever and the tension on the spring causes it to slam down on the staple. But since the notch on the hammer is broken in does not lift the spring
Hope this helps
