First you need to see if the computer reconizes the reader, to do this you double click on the computer icon on your desktop, then look to see if there are any drives other than your hard drive and cd roms. If the computer does not see the reader then you may need to download drivers. As to how to get the drivers it depends on your setup if the reader was installed in the computer when you bought it then you will want to go to the computer manfactuer website, if you bought the reader seperatly then you should have recived a disk with it if not go to the website of the card reader manfactuer.

Hope this helps.

I put my memory card into the Dynex reader and nothing is happening

Move the reader to a different USB port. If that doesn't work, the reader's probably given it up. I've seen several of this brand reader die an early death, for no apparent reason.

I cant open my sd/mmc card reader and writer.

Some SD and MMC have a security feature in them. If so you will need the disk that came along with it. After you install it then that's the time you can fully utilize your SD/MMC. SD means Secure Data / MMC means Multi Media Card.
If your card reader is not appearing in the My Computer then check if it is detected in the Windows device manager. Go to START > CONTROL PANEL > DEVICE MANAGER. Usually it is under the category of Disk Adapters or Human Interface Device. If it's not present then unplug and plug the device back in. Or try a different USB port to see if that will work. If it doesn't then most likely the reader is defective. But if it is detected and still not able to read the SD/MMC and the SD is being read by a different computer then the issue could be that the SD is not compatible with the reader.

I've had kodak easy share on my computer for years. Recently I tried to access the pictures and got "can not process your request..(error code 9477068x301x94770168x) I have called them &...

Forget easy share, just take out the memory card (SD card) from your camera and buy a SD card reader. Put this memory card in the card reader and plug the card reader in your computer USB. It will work like a normal pen drive and you will find all your pictures inside DCIM folder of your memory card. Copy all pictures in your computer HDD to be on safe side.

Cant read my micro sd memory card

You may want to try a USB Micro SD card reader.

I helped a friend who had a similar problem, and the fault was in her camera, and the software used to connect it to her computer. When she put the SD card in the USB reader all of her pictures were readily available. All of this cost her only about $15 U.S.

I hope that you find this information to be helpful.

I have a kingston 4gb micro sd card when i put it in my computer it says memory card error

Try a different USB port. If you have another card reader or can borrow one from somewhere, try a different card reader. Also try on another PC. If it is still not working and you don't have any important data on your card, try formatting it by going to My computer, than right click the card drive (e.g. f:/) and choose format.

Cannot access SD card containing photos. Initally tried to copy photos to hard drive but system seezed and cannot now access SD card, keeps asking do I want to format card, always said NO. Regards Bob from...

Hi Bob, can you tell me what SD card reader do you have? is it a internal one from a laptop?

Some of the older SD card readers doesnt read SDHC cards, you might want to check. And some just require new drivers for the SD card reader. Best way to check is look for your SD card reader's driver in DELL then using the maker name of that driver and go to their website to see if they have an updated driver. Dell usually doesn't have the latest drivers.

Tech-com 25-in-1 card reader in vista

the reason its failing is because vista doesn't play well with certain SD cards.

more than likely your SD card does not support 1.8 volts. (Typically, most SD cards use 3.3 volts.) and your comp might be running a 1.8 volt SD host controller.

also this occurs because of a timing issue with the SD host controller. (might be why it works sometimes)

Luckily Microsoft has SILENTLY (typical) released a fix for this problem

you need hot fix 936825...... download it, install it and reboot.

I think this is the link for the page where the fix is (requires validation to make sure you actually own vista)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=E42FC131-6A76-4B27-934A-FB19DD323DAB&displaylang=en

If not, go here and search for 936825
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

give this a shot and see what happens first. you could still have it set as an unknown device for some reason (windows sucks)

if the fix doesn't work, kick me an email
good luck! let me know how it turns out,
