Question about Frigidaire ATF6000ES Front Load Washer

Frigidaire front load washing machine won't stop filling

My Frigidaire front load washing machine will fill, agitate, fill, agitate then continue filling. I physically need to turn the timer to start the drain sequence. The washing machine will go through the cycles until the last fill where I'm required to turn the timer again to the final spin. I've replaced the timer thinking that may be the problem, but it hasn't solved anything. I've also replaced the water level switch, but that didn't help either. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Frigidare front loading washer mod# CRTF120ASO purchased 3/04 - water filled up tub until the door burst open (the dial indicated that it was at the end of the White cycle). Pushing in the on/off knob did not stop flow of water to tub so I had to turn off the supply line. After cleaning up mess and checking the waste line I tried to run a new batch of laundry. Dark setting seems to work fine (well, one load did). The White setting does not work properly - tub continues to fill unless you turn off the supply line to the washer (water was at the TOP of the door and still filling when I manually turned off the water supply line at the spigot). Simply pushing in the dial stops the machine from agitating but it does not turn off the flow of water to the tub. You then need to turn the dial (with the water supply still off) to the 'drain' portion of the cycle.

hose from pressure switch had a crack....solved problem

  • msbabe63 Mar 26, 2008

I have a 8 cycle topload Frigidaire Washer that will not stop filling up or not agitate on all cycles. However it will spin dry and empty the water ONLY if I manually advance it to the spin cycle. I've seen so many possible solutions that I am a little overwhelmed now.

I'm tring to decide if I shud bypass the little door lock thingy or replace water level hose or replace coupler or replace timer or maybe all of the above.

Anxiously awaiting your expert advice....I dont have the model number at hand but will get it when I get home if necessary.

    Thanx in advance

Washing machine won't fill. i filled it by hand with water, it won't agitate either, only spins.

The inlet solenoid is probably bad. And it won't agitate unless it fills and stops filling automatically.

Kenmore washer 90 series continue to fill w/water. Load size won't stop the fill... had to shut off water source. won't get to agitate phase... just want to stay at fill stage... can drain, spin,...

Sounds like the fill switch needs to be replaced. A good way to test it is to set your machine on low fill and see if it fills past 3/4. If it does, it's the fill switch.

Hello there:
If your cycle does not complete or The cycle doesn't advance
When the cycle should advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem: It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. than check the cold water supply line and the filter

Doesnot stop filling water

To javed_iqb904, does the drum actually fill or does it seem like that water is draining out as it's filling?

To neonllama19, if it fills with the tap on and the machine off, it sounds like a defective water valve. If it never stopped filling it sounds like a defective pressure switch or hose to the pressure switch is loose or diconnected.
