Screen fading to black

I have an envision monitor, and when I turn it on, 95% of the time it shows the envision logo like it should, then instead of the logo fading slowly, like it should, it instantly turns black. When this happens, the screen stays black, and I can only barely make out what is on my screen. Is there anyway to make my monitor work like it should, or do I have to buy new one?

Get your monitor repaired by a professional technician. Its due to the picture tube getting bad. these are initial stages, so maybe it can be repaired. Later you'll only have the option to buy one...

My Hp notebook screen is black, sometimes it fades in and out black to grey then to black.how can i fix it

Connect your laptop to an external monitor and switch to monitor. If the external monitor shows the desktop, then the complaint is in the lcd/led display unit means the screen. Replace the screen. If the external monitor also shows the complaint, then it is normally due the mch(media controller hub) . It comes as separate card unit in some models and onboard for some other models.Only an experienced technician can solve that issue. In some rare cases it is due to a corrupted BIOS. Reply if this helped you.

Try a different video card or disconnect the one you have in your PC and use the VGA monitor connection on the motherboard. If it works your video card is gone.

I have a Envision EN-7100e monitor. Downloaded

catamount309, This is only a guess, but unit may have internal "switch-mode-power-supply"/"CCFL inverter" board problem. When screen goes BLACK, is it also BLANK? If you can see WIN-desktop with aid of bright flashlight 1 inch from screen, then SMPS is in partial shutdown mode. If you see nothing, then SMPS is in full shutdown. In either case, Technician will need to repair the SMPS/CCFL inverter board. If KNOWN GOOD monitor works with PC, then you know 7100e is bad. Do you know and understand how the new energy efficient screw-in curlie-Q light bulbs work? If the "electronic ballast circuit" not working, then it can't light-up the CCFL tubes on the reverse side of LCD panel then you see black. Do more reading in my fixya profile for more options open to you. Do your research first!! Hey, reading is free!!!

1905FP Monitor Powers up, briefly shows logo, blacks out.

Look inside for bad caps with bulgng tops, worst case will be shorted out transistors in the backlight inverter circuits or bad lamps. Check to see if you do have he 12vdc for the inveter circuits. See example of failed monitors with bad caps here: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Hp dv9000 switches on to show coloured lines on screen.

Hello

My first guess is that the screen circuitry has gone bad - although fixable. Use an external monitor to verify this. If the external monitor is fine then the screen circuitry is bad, if the external screen shows the same problem then the video chip or associated circuitry has gone bad. My company fixes these all the time.

Monitor repeatedly flashes Acer logo and computer display in cycles

We had the same problem with the 17" we bought in Aug. Sent it back for repair. Acer sent it back without fixing the problem. Started doing it again in Nov. This time I called a supervisor and they sent me a new monitor. Well yesterday it started doing the same thing. You can fix it temp buy unplugging it and holding down the on-off switch for 30 seconds. Please let me know if you have a better fix.
