Question about HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook

Keyboard's keys sometimes don't respond

Sometimes at random some numbers on my keyboard doesn't work along with some letters. For instant one minute keys 1,2, and 3 won't respond but if maybe 10 minutes later they will work again.
Sometimes if 1,2, and 3 doesn't work I would simply slide my finger across 6,5,4 than to 3,2, and 1, then it would some how work.
My G/f's previous later model hp laptop did the same thing and sometimes her brand new later model doesn't that same thing.

I also did research thinking that maybe it's a bad driver, but I couldn't find a driver download anywhere.

It is not a driver it is a keyboard that is having troubles itself unfortunately, you can try to find new one on eBay since that ones printed wires sort of are broken. What happens is that your keyboard pops out a little and disconnects some letters so you need to press in the middle to get it back to work, the same thing was happening to previous one.

Some keys on keyboard not working on my acer aspire 5253-B2692

Im going to assume you didn't spill anything on the keyboard here...The best solution for you is to take the keyboard out and reseat the ribbon cable that holds it in place. Sometimes those cables get just a little bit loose, but a little can cause a lot of trouble as you can see. Let's see how much trouble...open "notepad" or some other writing program you have....type every single letter and number and see which ones you are missing. Let me know if there are any others that don't work....then we'll go through the process of taking the keyboard out and reseating it.

Hi! my acer aspire one notebook keyboard not working. i tried to restore the system but still not working. sometimes it works but it automatically write letters without touching any keys. we also tried to...

There might be some sticky stuff under the keys. It could also be that the plastic, or rubber that acts as a spring to keep the keys sticking onto the controller is getting weak. This can happen to keys overtime.

Try the following:

1. Turn the laptop off
2. Press the keys several times and compare the feedback for all keys.
You'll notice the difference.
3. Carefully take off the faulty key from the keyboard and clean using clean cloth, or ear buds.
- Make sure you know what you're doing as this can damage the keys if you're not careful.
4. Fit the keys back.

If the above doesn't work then am afraid you need to buy a new keyboard. You can find this on online stores like ebay.

hope it helps.

Instead of the letter ''O'' I get the number 6 on my keyboard.

Hi,
Your number lock is on, look on the top right of the keyboard for a key marked "Num Lock" (can sometimes be coloured blue), hit that key once and your keyboard will return to normal.

Regards.

The "n" letter sometimes it responds and some not

The key may be broken or there may be something stuck under it, possibly something spilled on it? The keyboard should come off, have a geeky friend look for the screw that keep it in place.

Keyboard

It is possible that you have a bad keyboard. The best way to test whether this is a hardware issue or a software issue with Windows is to attach a USB keyboard and see if you have the same random results. If the keyboard is bad, which could be from something being dropped on it, a spill, or just worn out, the replacement part is readily available on eBay or other online parts sites for less than $35 and the replacement procedure is rather simple. The keyboard itself is not a fixable part.
