One way is when you download them to the computer. When you first insert your media card (Memory Stick Pro Duo?), it should prompt you as to what you want it to do. "Do Nothing" reply.
Then open "my computer" from the start menu. When you are looking at your images, highlight them all and "Cut". Then paste them to a folder in "my pictures" and it should clear your camera.
Good Luck! Ed

Your problem may be due to corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, the camera may require professional repair.

Deleting pictures from cybershot viewer

Emmmeee,

I had the same problem with my digital cam/corder! An alternative solution to deleting pictures off the camera is, trickily enough, through your computer! This may be a bit of a hassle as you have preloaded your pics. What you will need to do is redownload your pics. You should be asked the option of deleting your pictures after download, and you click on the box.
