Question about Dryers
Two months old and stopped drying. I took the panel off the front and
could feel air blowing around in there. Went outside and there
was a strong stream of air coming out (the 38 foot long vent pipe with
three 90 degree elbows plus the flexible pipe between the dryer and the
wall!) and comfirmed it wasn't clogged. Then I took the vent pipe
off the back of the dryer and the air blowing around inside the bottom
of the dryer stopped. It definately had more air pressure at that point
than at the end of all that pipe. Also there seemed to be too much lent
built up down there for a two month old dryer so I'm guessing the
length of the pipe is creating too much back pressure so it is leaking
out inside the bottom of the dryer. What am I supposed to do if
my laundry room is in the middle of my house and there is no other way
to vent it? I am using rigid pipe but it already has a quarter
inch of lint built up on the inside of the pipe. Is this just a
mistake of the remodeler of the house and laundry rooms are supposed to
be located on an outside wall?
For the last ten years I had just let the old dryer vent into the four foot tall crawl space under the house but I was trying to set it up correctly when I got a new dryer. Could the back pressure or lint build up be the reason the gas stopped coming on? I realize this dryer is under warranty but I want to make sure it is installed correctly before calling for a repair person.

what size is your breaker how many amps it should say on breaker are you cleaning the lint screen with it on top if the drier is getting too hot there is a device in it that's called a thermal limiter that would blow before the breaker would trip what kind or you in a house or apt. now on high heat can you hold your hand on the side of the drier.or cant touch it look at the vent under your house and tell me 1is it hanging down under the house then coming up to the hood 2whats its diameter3whats it made of we will go from there ok.there are three thermostats in that drier the first one runs at about 150 160 max second is a safety in case the first one fails it cycles at about 250 third is a safety if the drier exceeds 300 it will shut the heater down and wont rest it has to be replaced

Sounds like the exhaust fan is not working. There's an electric blower at the back of the unit that forces air out through the exhaust vent. Unplug the unit, pull the vent off the back, and see if you can reach in and touch the fan blades and make them move. If it won't move something is probably caught in there. You may need to take off the back of the unit and remove the housing cover to the fan assembly in order to really tell what's going on, but it sounds like your fan has an obstruction. It could also be that the fan motor is fried but that seems less likely. Remember to have the unit unplugged, there's some dangerous voltage inside.
