I get the same problem. I have the latest drivers for my OS (Vista Home Basic), installed correctly (reinstalled a few times now just in case) and I tried your solution as well, I'm also having the same problem with the print queue not clearing. It says its deleting, but never does. I need to turn off the printer, manually delete the print queue, then turn the printer back on to be able to print anything else.

Normally, when I hit the scan start button, the Lexmark software pops up and asks where it wants me to save. Now, the scanner does nothing and the LCD screen on theprinter goes back to the selection screen. Nada. Any ideas? I find it odd that so many people have just recently, in the last coupe of months, have started having this problem. This has to be from a Vista update, wouldn't you think?

Try resetting it by turning it off and unplugging it, reverse steps and try again. If no go, try claering print queue, if this fails, get your driver disc and uninstall the cheeky beggar and reinstall it. cheers lilacgerry xxx

How to Use Windows Defender to Scan for Spyware

Several programs are in use today that you can use to scan and clean your computer to maintain a healthy long life for your system. It is enviable in most cases that you will have to load a fresh copy of Windows Vista on your system but regularly scanning the system with Windows Defender prologs things like this.

Step 1 Start by deciding what type of scan you want to run. You can scan the most common areas that spyware is found, you can scan a custom area which is the files and folders you choose, or you can choose to scan the whole system. For my maintenance schedule I run a short scan at least once a week. This is changed to about every 3 days if the speed of my system starts to slow down. I also run a full scan once a month to get the uncommon parts of my computer.

The following guide steps can serve you a reliable trick to scale through perfectly:
  • Step 2 To run a quick scan click start then all programs and double click Windows Defender. This will open a new window that contains a few options. For the quick scan click Scan and enter your password if it asks for it.
  • Step 3 The custom scan requires you to click the down arrow next to the scan button and then click custom scan. Click the "scan selected drives and folders" and then the select button. You should be able to pick the files and folders at this point and then click ok. You might be asked to enter your password.
  • Step 4
  • For the full scan hit the down arrow next to the scan button and click full scan. Again you may need to enter your password if a prompt comes up

    tool late now.
you'd need to drive with scan tool attached then see what code
    set (DTC) at failure.
    can be lots of things.
    bad fuel, partial clogged filter.
injector clogs. and other sensors errors.
and others, this is common rail injection system, right?
get a scan tool, and have it always ready. for fails.

Why does my laptop keep freezeing up and shutting down, I did a virus scan and its ok

The infected laptops encounter random shutdown problem until some maintenance activity is being performed on the system.
Two important things that you should do to fix a laptop which keeps shutting down are:
1- Scanning computer to eliminate malwares, spywares and the viruses from your laptop.
2- Repairing and cleaning Windows registry.
The registry errors, however, are the internal errors and can become a cause of system crashes and freezes.
These two tips are found to be very helpful to fix the laptop shutdown problem.

Playback is choppy and it runs up my processor to 100% just from watching 1 video online or from my videos

    1) Check your pagefile memory. to do this right hand click on My Computer and choose properties. Go to ADVANCED/ Performance Settings/Advanced Performance Options/ Go down to Virtual Memory and click on CHANGE. On each drive in the box, highlight it and choose "System managed size". Press ok/ Apply & OK, and Restart Your System.
    2) One thing i feel i should tell you, is that your system MAY HAVE A VIRUS. Try scanning with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Remover Tool just to be sure.
    3) I recommend that you run a Full Diskcheck and do a DEFRAG ON ALL DRIVES AS WELL.

That should Definately Do It.. OK? GREAT LUCK & PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO RATE MY RESPONSE OK? THANKS LUCKY4LYNN2
