I just got my car back and now the open/close feature won't work. I can't get it to open so I can put a cd in. I've already reseted the unit a couple of times and it still won't work. what can i do?

I'm having the same problem. Pioneer customer service won't do anything to help either. I payed the $70 service fee and sent mine in to them, only to have it returned without the problem fixed.. they said there was nothing wrong with it.

    Hi,

I am also having this problem. What I have noticed is that once the vehicle has reached room temp the door opens again. I have not tried resetting the unit like you have mentioned. Are you still experiencing this issue and if yes do you still reset it like you mentioned earlier where you start the vehicle and apply the parking brake and then press the reset button on the AVIC-D1?

I had the same problem.

I found that resetting the AVIC-D1 with the engine running functioned differently tjhat wirth the engine off. I first tried pressing the reset thit the ignition on and the engine off, but that didn't fix the problem.
I did a reset with the engine running and the parking brake set and the open button started working again.

Good luck.

How do you turn off the touch tone feature on an avic d3 car stereo?

Go to the upper right navigation button, then under the navigation menu go to *SETTINGS, then *VOLUME, then *BEEP VOLUME. Push the minus (-) key until the annoying beep can no longer be heard.

Touchscreen is inoperable on the right side

Right there with you, I have a avic d2 as well. my screen is not working at all. I work on stereos, and can not fix it myself, because Pioneer will not sell the ribbon cable needed to fix it. You must ship the unit to them, and pay $180 for a five minute repair. I used to buy only Pioneer, I have moved on to alpine. Pioneer has gone way, way down hill as soon as they stopped making there product in Japan.

Pioneer AVIC-D1 Touchscreen Wont Work

Pioneer has a repair service center in California. Look up warrenty and service repair on their site. With a problem that detailed it realy cant be narrowed down to one thing. The good thing is you have enough wrong that you actualy benifit from their flat rate fee's for repair.

Me on the other end ended up paying $200 for them to replace a fuse. :( So yeah look up the repair centers number, give them a call and they will tell you what you need to do. The unit is repairable.

AVIC-D3 ipod connect&dvd

Maybe you telephone mute wire is accidently touched with the frame(grounded). It's the yellow wire with black stripe, check see if it make contact with a ground point. If it does simply tape it up with some electrical tape. Let me know if that help.

Contact Pioneer Tech Support. It might be your ribbon cable. There is a free repair (shipping cost only), due to a defective ribbon cable for the display.
