Try the Lid switch If the lid switch is defective, your washer can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it. Some machines have a special lid-switch fuse near the lid switch, inside the control panel. If this fuse blows, the unit won't fill with water until you replace the fuse. or your motor coupling could have broken!

It will not fill with cold water. Could it be due to the cold weather - the cold water pipe frozen. Kitchen is very cold (pipe is next to an east facing wall). Same pipe also fills the dishwasher,...

If youve taken the fill hose off and checked for running water out of tap and its not coming through, your machine is ok, you have a water fault.the humming is the water valve working.

My washing machine , a hotpoint wdd960 , wont stop filling with water , i had problem since the frosty weather when water froze. i have took top of machine and all electrics are soaked, it is 3 years old ....

you will find at the drum bottom there is a 5mm pipe leading to the water censor remove it and blow gently into it you should hear a click and one when you release the air this means that the censor is ok but the small pipe where you took the pipe from is blocked not allowing the air pressure to build up to tell the controller that water is full enough to continue to the next cycle clean out the small pipe with a pipe cleaner, dry the parts of the machine with a hair dryer eric

Hotpoint aquarius wf 640

You cant seal off the inlet, but you can get a Y adapter, its a hose that splits into 2 outlets. They are most often used to hook up steam dryers but will work for wha you need, this will allow you to use it but it will not get the best cleaning results

Why is my warm water is cold? The hot is hot and cold is cold but warm is cold.

There is too much pressure on the cold feed, reduce the pressure on the cold by partly closing off the tap on the cold.
Or ensure the hot feed is fully open and not blocked, check if there are filters inline - remove the feed pipes at the washer end and look into the inlet valves - clear if blocked.
The inlet valve is common to hot and cold water with only a small pipe to fill the machine, the cold water is being forced back up the hot water pipe due to the pressure you can feel the pipe cool down after running hot then go to warm, if hot water is flowing the pipe will stay hot, if not then cold is going up the hot pipe.

LG WFT653A wont fill with cold water

1.) unscrew your cold water conection from the rear of your wash, there will be a little mesh wire thimble in the threaded pipe going into your washer, 2.) remove it and clean it its is most likely clogged, 3.) replace it and put it back together, 4.) enjoy the rinse cycle!!

Inlet hose leaking a top branch

There are 2 versions of the Hotpoint WD640, a cold fill only version, and a hot and cold fill version..
From your question, I conclude you have the hot and cold fill version, which requires a hot and cold fill supply..
I do not understand what you mean by leaking from top banch, perhaps you can clarify.

Please rate my solution.
Thankyou.

Drum is filling with water after each wash

There is only 2 possibilities for the drum to fill with water after it has finished.
Firstly, if the empty pipe is connected to the sink outlet pipe, the water can syphon back into the washer if the pipe is too low, thereby slowly filling the washer when not in use.
Solution is to lift the outlet pipe higher.than the bottom of the sink.
The other reason is the inlet valve is not shutting off properly.
To prove if this is the case, turn the water off at the valve, if it is hot and cold fill, then turn the hot off only, and wait and see if water comes in over a period of time, if it does not then you need to replace the hot valve.
If water stills comes in with hot turned off, then you need to replace the cold valve.
If cold fill only , turn off cold and wait to see if any water comes in, if it does not, then replace cold valve.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.
