Question about Metz mecablitz 45 CL-4 TTL Flash

Metz 45 CL-4 flash problem...

Been looking around for awhile for this problem but can't find anything relating to it:
Basically I turn the flash on and you can hear it powering up (high pitch squeal) then it sounds like it fires but no light actually comes out. after that it powers up again and quickly "fires" again with no light. It continuously tries to power then "fires" again. It won't let the flash power up to get a green light, it keeps firing. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Will it do the same in Manual Modes?

Use DVM and measures voltages from Hot to ground. What is the voltage?

Can I connect a METZ 45 CL-1 to my CANON D600

Yes, this is the way the flash can be used with the contemporary digital cameras. The camera has to be set to Full Manual mode (in point of the exposition), Exposure Time to 1/100 sec (or the shortest exposure that still assures full opening of the shutter). Aperture on the camera must suit the working aperture on the flash, also ISO speeds must match. The computer in the flash measures the reflected from the subject light and quenches the flash, creating the correct exposure. Mecamat sensor, having narrower reception angle and a sight, helps in achieving the correct illumination even on a relatively small subject. Sync voltage of Metz 45CL1 does not make harm to any digital camera, so you can use even the cheapest hotshoe-to-PC adapter available at many camera shops or you can buy one online. No need to spend much on sophisticated adapters.

Metz 45 CL 4 Compatibility

The trigger voltage of the 45CL4 is right on the borderline, according to this list. Personally I wouldn't use this flash on a digital camera without something like a Wein Safe-Sync to isolate the two devices.

Which adapter do Ineed to connect my nikon d90 with metz 45 cl-4 (non digital )

What do you mean by adaptor?! You will need to by a hotshoe adaptor with a hole that talkes the old style cable plug from your Metz lead and away you go! Try jessops. (As long as you have the lead from your Metz!?
