First - reset the player by using a paperclip, toothpick, etc and pressing it into the pinhole. Try doing this while the GoGear is "On" - but this may be difficult under the circumstances. Try connecting your GoGear to the computer after that, and see if Windows Media recognizes the player.

If that fails, conenct your GoGear to the computer, open Philips Device Manager (Start-->All Programs-->Philips), and click on the repair tab. Now, disconnect your GoGear from computer. Turn the GoGear off if it is not already. Press and hold the volume + key and connect the GoGear to the computer (while still pressing the volume +). A window will pop up saying a repair is being performed. now you can let go of the Volume + button. The repair will get your device workign normally again. WARNING: the repair process will delete any music/other media file from your GoGear.

Exactly what happened to you. You start getting card errors and can't read/write the card.

Just received a Philips GoGear MP4 player and didn't get a users manual, don't believe I should have to buy one. Where is the one that should be in the package.

Go to philips.com and type in the model number on the sticker eg: SA1234 and the user guide will be available online for you. Hope this helps.

I have the 4204-A and it is stuck on one song. I can't change it it's frozen in this spot. What is happen and what do I do now? No it is not locked on the back. Just want it working again. Thanks...

Thier should be two small holes on the player probably on the back one is the microphone the Other is the reset switch. Mic should be labled. Take a straightened paperclip and gently press it
in the hole and the paperclip shoud press a switch on the inside of the player to reset it.

My mp3 from time to time would shut off or the screen would go black and won't shut off.

Same problem I had awhile back, make sure you don't have a memory card inside the player when you turn it on. It boots up in an incorrect order and doesn't start. To turn it off when it's stuck in that position I believe I held the sliding power button to "On" for 15 seconds.

I have a Telefunken TMP-444B, 4GB MP3/4 player. The setup soft ware disc does not load to any of my computors. Where can I download it. Cannot load music onto the player

Hopefully you got a solution already, but here goes mine: I also had a Telefunken TMP-444B, 4GB MP3/4 and i found you don't need a cd (my cd also didn't work). Try connecting it to your pc via usb-cable and access it on your PC. Simply copy your Mp3 or mp4 files onto it and see it should work. Mine did. Hope yours will.
(Just take care when deleting files, because i don't know if important files are protected on your mp3/4 player). Take care anyway ;-)
Cheers

Why won`t my mp3 take itself off hold?

Power & Hold switch
Slide and hold in the opposite direction
of the arrow for power on/off.
Slide in the direction of the arrow to
lock the button functions.

If that fails,
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

Mpio HD-400 is stuck on loading screen windows doesnt recognize it

alotita, I have an MPIO HD-200. Does Windows play the sound like you have something attached when you plug it in? Or does Windows not regognize it al all? Either way, I've had to play with mine after I've dropped it a couple of times. I charge the battery all the way, then just keep plugging and unplugging from the USB wire. The last time, it took 20+ times before Windows would recognize it.
