I had this same issue...I bet you're using DVD-R, am I correct?

Apparently you can't copy video from DVD-R to the HD Writer. Period. Just can't do it. (Would be nice if they mentioned this in the manual.)

You can only use DVD-RW and must format the disc to VR format, not Video format.

I'm using a program called Handbrake (free) which I think can convert your .vob files (from the Video_TS folder on your DVD) to quicktime files, or similar, so that you can actually do something with the video...

Best of luck, I'm really no expert, and I probably won't return to this page, so a reply to me is likely not going to be read by me...

I have a Panasonic HDC TM55. I can copy directly to my optical dirve via HD Writer AE 2.0 and it plays well on my soney blue ray player but if I copy it to the disk and edit the file then to the disc it just jerks and skipps. Not much info in the manual.

Unable to read some images in HD Writer..other ones works perfect

this can happen sometimes, it could be a wrong code format when recorded or the device cannot read the code that its been put in. i have had this with some car cameras and cctv systems. its very hard to find software to open the files and fix them.

Problem with HD writer 2.0E

The reason for this error is that there is a conflict between HD Writer and other software on your computer. I was trying to find a solution for weeks before Panasonic advised me to remove other DVD burning software on my computer. I therefore removed Pinnacle and DVD decrypter (which I believe was causing the problem), reinstalled HD Writer and then everything worked fine. Note however that the DVD-RW discs I had tried to use before were corrupted and couldn't be reformatted and therefore once you have removed the other software and reinstalled HD Writer, start again with new DVD-RW discs. Good Luck.
