Hi,

With the indulgence of Drummernick and coolguy008,

May I offer a brute force remedy?

Individually adjust the screen and focus controls of the the three FBTs. You probably have to wing it and adjust to best possible setting.

This is of course assuming no hardware fault but the unit has been in operation for some time and there are no other remedies available.

Good luck and kind regards.

    Hi again,

    Appreciate the point out.

The FBTs are inside the cabinet. As standard extreme care when adjusting internal of live sets. The screen and focus controls are married to the rear end of the flyback transformers. It would be a good idea to use a mirror while adjusting to show the screen front. There are no specific guidelines since one who is adjusting can see if the adjustment would be ok or not by looking at the displayed images.

Should you be uncomfortable going through these route or unfamiliar with electroni circuitry and compnents, then perhaps the suggestion of coolguy008 is your best bet and seek the services of a qualified professional.

    Cheers.

    BTW,

Adjusting the screen and focus controls is more of a "tweak" rather than a "fix", it is squeezing a few more out of your system before due replacement.

It is best to shut the color level to the lowest setting then try t balance the screens to achieve the best black and white picture. then turn up your color level. Your brightness level should also be set to 50 % then when you adjust for the best B&W picture. You will have better color and brightness when you reset your color and brightness levels.

I am further looking into ur problem..

Goodluck..

Do you observe any strange colours like red or rainbow in between the screen??

  • Priya darshan Feb 07, 2008

No there is nothing like that. You have to get it repaired by a technician and thats the only solution..

  • Priya darshan Feb 07, 2008

    Alright give this a try:

do the reset test. I give this a 50/50 chance of
clearing it up. Disconnect the power cord for 4 hours. Then when you
    power it back up
the internal soft codes will automatically reset to factory defaults.

  • Priya darshan Feb 07, 2008

Dude i never said it is a right remedy and anyways u have to get it repaired by a tech even if it is the bulb problem..

  • Priya darshan Feb 07, 2008

I also want you to have a look at this once but they charge you for this:

    http://fixyourowntv.com/servicemenu.php

  • Priya darshan Feb 07, 2008

Ya dude i know that we have told her all the possible ways to get it fix and what if he/she can't solve the problem by self then u have to call a technician as the problem can also be inside the TV.

  • Priya darshan Feb 07, 2008

Please follow whatever i said and if nothing works out call a technician and get it repaired fully so that you don't face any other problems in future..

And thanx for agreeing wid my solution Benimur

Poor picture quality

Hello Paul. I have this same monitor, but rebranded, Access the service menu with the remote control:

With user’s RC
1. Power TV On
2. Press Menu button and call up User OSD Menu
3. Select Sound-> Balance
4. When Balance value is “0”,Enter 0->5->3 ->2 in sequence.
Note: If necessary, re-do number keys.
5. Factory OSD appears.
6. Press the standby button then AC turn off and restart the TV, which can exit factory
OSD menu.

Now you will be able to change the values for Red Green and Blue channels. I also hated this TV, but after adjusting the colors it's looking great! Hope you could fix it too! :)

WS-55809 with Universal Remote

you will have to get a new mitsu remote in order to make the adjustment. Most universal remotes are made to just do basic functions, unless you start getting into nice sony touchscreen remotes but then they cost 100 by themselves.
the remote to a mitsubishi wd55513, wd65513 etc will also work on this set, I have done it before.
Here is one on ebay:

Divide this number by 100 and write this value to the Option-E 11 P CTL SHT1. For our example above we would have 3356/100= 33.56. So we can round to 34.

Select AUTO in the menu for the Image Revision setting and exit the menu screen. Confirm that the picture is fine.
