make sure you and your friends have open NAT, you need to port forward certain ports for xbox live on your router, try to check if ubisoft also has specific ports need to be open. if still the same contact your ISP, they might be having problems.

Hello. I need to change my NAT type on my Xbox 360 from moderate to open using a Westell Versalink 7500 router.

Hello

Your router does not have moderate or open nat options.

Options that it does have are Public Lan - nat type and Private Lan -nat type.

Your router also has a DMZ feature and port forwarding options.
User manual for your router is available at http://www22.verizon.com/ResidentialHelp/HighSpeed/Networking/User+Guides/User+Guides.htm

To get your xbox live working properly, you can try using the public nat type, if that does not solve the problem, turn on DMZ for the address of the Xbox360. Now if that still does not solve the problem, then you would need to set up port forwarding for all the ports that xbox live uses.

I would personally recommend that you enable port forwarding for the required ports.
Ports that need to be open are
TCP 80 • UDP 88 • UDP 3074 • TCP 3074 • UDP 53 • TCP 53

Together with the user manual and xbox360 portforwarding guides that are available here http://portforward.com/english/applications/port_forwarding/Xbox_Live_360/Xbox_Live_360index.htm

You will be able to get it working.

But since that is a lot of information for anyone that has not used port forwarding before I'll write down step by step how to get started.

First get on your computer, You need to connect to the routers own configuration page. By default this is http://192.168.1.1

So, open your internet browser and write HTTP://192.168.1.1 and press enter.

Now you get a a user and password prompt. the username is admin and the password is password. all lower case.

Now on the top menu, click on Firewall settings.

Now select Port forwarding. more information and pictures on the user manual page 98 and forward. You need to create a new rule or rules that forward the above ports - allow them to be open to the internet for the xbox 360.

Looking at page 112. You would create a new port forwarding service, you need to add all the ports one by one. And the host device would be the IP address of the xbox.

Now the DMZ option will be simpler, that is on page 118. You just need to find the xbox ip address from its network options and put it there, and turn on the DMZ. That will allow all traffic for that machine.

Let me know how far you get. I'll help if you get stuck, sorry if this post is a bit unclear, this is a very small box to write in, I can't easily see everything I've already written here.

Change NAT from strict to open

You need to do port forwarding on your router. First, you must setup a static IP address on your XBOX. Then You must open these ports on your router setup page using Port Forwarding feature. 80 TCP and UDP, 53 TCP and UDP, 3074 TCP and UDP.

To open NAT on this router your computer needs to have a static ip address.Enter the ip address of your router in the address bar of your browser. Click the Yes, enter expert mode button near the center of the page.
The menu on the left should change. In this new menu, click Configure.
You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click NAT.
Put a dot into the Port Forwarding: Range of Ports radio button.
Service name enter as Xboxlive.port 3074-3074 in global port range and 3074 in Base host port, click TCP as protocol, similarly use the same for UDP and port 88 in UDP.

Changing nat on xbox live

I had this issue, and solved it recently. Everyone on the internet will tell you to forward ports, or disable the NAT setting, but these never worked for me. As I was about to give up and buy a new router, as a last resort I decided to call tech support. In about 3 minutes they fixed my problem, and it is much easier then port forwarding.

-First go into your 360 network settings and find its mac address.
-In the router settings move to the LAN tab.
-Then go to "dhcp leases".
-Under "current dhcp leases" your 360 should be listed (match the mac address)
-Make a note of the IP address listed for the 360, then delete that lease.
-Now Reserve a new IP address, enter in the MAC address and IP address you wrote down for the 360.
-Check the bypass firewall option (and give it a name if you want) and then add the new entry.
-On the same page, move up to "DMZ Host" find your new entry and click "apply"
-Click the option to reboot your SBG900, then restart your 360, and the NAT should be open.

I hope this helps, if I described it correctly it should be much easier then port forwarding, and more importantly, it should work.

Xbox live connection: My NAT

its likely your router needs to have port forwarding setup on it, or you could try setting up your Xbox ip address as a DMZ on your router.

however some routers simply wont work, I had a voyager 105 using port forwarding but it still never worked till i changed to a Draytek

post more details of your router and what you have tried.

also you cant go far wrong visiting here
